Washington Early Learning Center
The Washington Eagles
Week of January 11th - January 15th, 2016
From the Eagle's Nest!
Information regarding enrollment for the 2016-17 school year will be sent home with your child the week of January 25, 2016. Packets will also be mailed that week to age-eligible children for next year's 4K program.
Please note that if your child is currently enrolled in the NJSD for EC or 4K, you WILL NOT need to re-enroll for next year. We will assume your child is continuing in our school district unless you tell us different.
You will also be given information if you are interested in the Alliance Charter School as an option for Kindergarten.
Again, the letter coming home in a couple of weeks should explain all of this in more detail. I just wanted to give you a heads-up!
Please remember that there is NO SCHOOL this Friday, January 15th for all EC & 4K students!
Please mark your calendars!
Friday, January 15: End 2nd Quarter; NO SCHOOL for EC & 4K!
Wednesday, January 27: Progress Reports will be sent home for all EC students
Friday, January 29: NO SCHOOL (Staff Professional Learning Day)
Friday, February 5: Progress Reports will be sent home for all 4K students

Drop-off and Pick-up Safety-REMINDER!
- HOLD HANDS with your child while crossing the street! Please DO NOT allow your child to cross the street on his/her own!
- HOLD HANDS with your child while in the parking lot! The parking lot is a very busy place with busses and cars coming and going.
- DO NOT let your child out of the car to walk to the entrance door on his/her own!
Also, please remember that your son/daughter is a "big boy/girl" who is now attending school! We recommend that you allow your child to walk to the door, instead of being carried. They should also carry their own backpack! Remember, we are helping establish a school routine that will continue into Kindergarten and self-help skills are very important!
Thank you for your assistance in maintaining safety and making the transition to the school day a positive one!

Schwan's Cares Fundraiser
Do you, or someone you know, order from Schwan's home delivery?
Schwan’s makes it very easy for us all to enjoy over 350 delicious food and desserts that they provide. Your food will be delivered to you at your convenience; they even provide a freezer bag for you if you will not be home for the delivery (it will even keep your ice cream cold on a hot summer day). You will need to provide a credit card on your first order, however your card will not be charged until your food is delivered, so if you prefer to pay by another option you may do so at time of delivery.
The cool thing about using Schwan’s is that anyone can use our fundraiser ID number, anywhere in the USA, and we will get the donations! So once you are registered on Schwan’s, please share our fundraiser with all your Facebook, Twitter, email and other friends, family and neighbors! Help Washington’s PTO raise money in order for the PTO to continue to help pay for field trips and other fun activities.
Remember to enter our fundraiser number when ordering (ID 24820), and we earn a percentage of your order for our Washington PTO! The first 45 days of our campaign earns us a larger percentage, so please consider ordering early!
Catalogs are available in the office! If you would like one sent home with your child, please call the office or send a note with your child's teacher.
