Back to School

We are SO excited for tomorrow! Here is the Nitty Gritty.

Open House

Thank you to all of the families that came to the DES Open House yesterday. We had a blast finding rooms, playing games and learning about what makes this the school of the Top Dogs! It was wonderful being able to meet all of the families and most importantly, to see all of the students.

Our Theme This Year is TEAMWORK!

As we all know, teamwork makes the dream work and here at DES we are going to encourage teamwork all year! If you attended open house, you may have noticed our theme being carried through the building.

We felt strongly that we need to support everyone working together toward common goals and and then helping each other to accomplish them. You will see this theme "play out" in the classroom, at specials, during events, and even between the teachers as we navigate the year.

Backpacks and School Supplies

We still have several backpacks left over after open house for students who are in need. We also have some donated school supplies if you find that you could use some for your child. Please feel free to email your child's teacher and let them know that you would like to take advantage of this opportunity. You may also email our school secretary, Mrs. Grzyb at

Accessing Parent Portal

The parent portal is a very important tool for communication. We frequently release information on the portal regarding busses, teacher assignments and report cards.

You can find the link on the DCRSD website under the parent tab, or by clicking this link.

If you have any questions about difficulties accessing the parent portal, please contact Mrs. Grzyb at or (508) 943-3351.

Elementary Student Handbook

The student handbook is available on-line or by clicking HERE and contains important information about school policies, procedures, and expectations for student conduct. It is reviewed annually by the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District School Committee and placed on file with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Students and parents are encouraged to take the time to review the handbook and become familiar with its contents. If you prefer a hard copy of the student handbook, please notify the main office at (508) 943-3351 and we will be sure to send one home.
