Facemasks
All adults and students entering Fossil Ridge High School must wear a mask
Individuals who choose not to wear a facemask will be denied entry into FRHS.
All facemasks must be school appropriate (no drug messages or logos, logos depicting alcohol or tobacco, not made of viable materials). Students will be given an appropriate mask if their facemask does not meet these requirements.
Individuals who cannot wear a mask due to religious reasons should contact their assistant principal.
Individuals who choose not to wear a facemask due to political reasons will be denied entry and/or removed from FRHS.
Students not wearing a facemask or wearing their facemask incorrectly will receive a warning. If a student chooses to not wear a facemask or wears a facemask incorrectly after this warning, the student will be sent home for the remainder of the school day.
If a student is sent home three times due to not wearing a facemask or wearing a facemask incorrectly, the student will be switched to remote learning for the remainder of the grading period.
Bandanas are not allowed on campus and will not be allowed as an approved facemask.
Student Health Screening
Parents/Guardians/Students need to complete the form below before arriving at school or getting on a school bus every day.
Faculty and staff are completing a similar form each day.
Campus Cleaning Protocols
Students will receive a mask in the event their mask is lost, breaks, etc.
Hand sanitizing stations will be located throughout the building.
Students/visitors will be encouraged to sanitize before entering, after changing locations, and before exiting FRHS.
Classrooms will have cleaning supplies that will be used in each class period.
FRHS will be disinfected at the end of each school day.
Campus Visitors & Deliveries
In order to maximize safety, visitors, and deliveries to a student will be extremely limited. Please call (817) 744-1700 before sending any deliveries or planning any campus visits.
Please make every effort to send your student to school with all the required materials.
School Buses
All bus riders will be required to wear a facemask and keep it on during the entire duration of the bus ride.
Students will be seated on the bus from the back to the front, two to a seat.
Siblings will be seated together.
Students who choose not to wear a mask may lose their bus riding privileges.
Arriving to FRHS and Breakfast
In order to maximize safety, FRHS will not allow students into the building until 8:00 am each day.
Students who are dropped off/walk/drive will enter through the front entrance (Door #1).
Students who ride the bus will enter through the back entrance (Door #11).
The areas outside of these entrances will be marked to help guide social distancing.
All students will report to their first-period class once they enter FRHS.
Breakfast will be served in a “grab and go” manner.
Students will eat their breakfast in their first-period class. The cafeteria will not be used for eating breakfast.
Students with late arrival first period will sit in the cafeteria while practicing social distancing.
Hallways, Passing Periods & Lockers
In order to maximize safety, academic lockers will not be assigned for this school year.
Hallways will be marked in order to promote social distancing.
Students should “keep to the right” and in a single file when traveling through hallways.
No congregating or gathering in the hallways will be allowed.
Restrooms & Water Fountains
Restrooms will allow 50% of normal capacity.
Students will not be allowed to drink directly from water fountains. Students will need to bring a refillable container for water.
Classrooms
Desks will be separated as far as possible from one another to promote social distancing.
Desk/items used during the class period will be sanitized at the end of each class period.
All classrooms will be sanitized at the end of the day.
Lunch
In order to maximize safety, no food deliveries will be allowed
There will be no visitors allowed to have lunch with students.
Meals can either be prepaid online or with cash. No change will be provided when making cash payments.
Three hot and one cold “Grab and Go” lunch options will be available.
Students will eat in the cafeteria.
The cafeteria will be marked to assist with social distancing.
For remote students, breakfast and lunch will be available for pickup from any high school in KISD.
Remote student meal pickup information will be available soon.
Dismissal
Students will have have a staggered dismissal schedule to maximize safety and social distancing.
Students must leave campus after school.
Students participating in after school activities must be in their designated room/meeting area within 10 minutes of the final dismissal bell.
Students with early dismissal need to leave campus at the conclusion of their last scheduled class.
