Money is how you pay for things you buy. You can earn money by doing chores like raking leaves or cleaning your room. When you earn money you can choose to spend your money or save it!
Paper money is called dollars. You use a dollar sign ($) when you write a dollar. They come in $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 bills. The number of the bill tells how much it is worth. All bills have a front side and a back side. You can use skip counting to count your dollars.
Coins are called cents. A penny is worth one cent. A nickel is worth five cents. A dime is worth ten cents. A quarter is worth twenty-five cents. A half dollar is a coin that is worth fifty cents. There is also a coin that is worth one dollar. It takes 100 cents to make 1 dollar. Each coins has a heads and a tails. You will also find Presidents on the coins.
