Ms. Murthy's classroom community welcomed a special guest in early March for a WOW! related to their water study. Laurie Diamond-Nannini, Fox Ridge Parent and a science teacher at St. Charles East High School, gave a lesson on the three states of matter - solid, liquid and gas. Activities included finding out where rainwater goes using a rain simulator, a tornado demonstration, melting ice with salt water, and much more. Thank you for sparking the curiosity of our preschool scientists!

AM Sessions (9:15 - 10:45 AM) are presented by TriCity Family Services' Director of Emotional Wellness Programs, Michelle Clark, LCPC, NCC

PM Sessions (12:45 - 1:45 PM) are facilitated by Fox Ridge's Child and Family Educator, Tricia Sabathne, with highlights from the morning sessions.

Presentations will be in the LRC at Fox Ridge. Please park in the parking lot, bring your id, use the crosswalk, and ring the buzzer to be signed in the office before heading to the LRC.

BERNIE’S BOOK BANK DONATION DRIVE

The D303 donation drive for Bernie’s Book Bank will be held for one week, April 3-12, 2023, at all D303 schools. Please consider bringing in new and gently used children’s books for birth through 6th grade to one of the D303 schools during the donation drive. Parents or students may place books in the collection bins located in the front hallway. D303’s goal for the 2023 donation drive is 20,000 books. Every book will help us reach our goal.

Keep or donate elsewhere your books that are in poor physical condition such as:

• Torn or bent covers

• Torn pages]

• Heavy marking

• Mildew/mold

• Off odor

• Very yellow pages

• Cracked bindings

• Hardcover books with cardboard showing in the corner

• Noise making buttons that don’t work

When your child is going to be absent from school only ONE phone call is required --- to the attendance line 331-228-2400. Notifying teachers is optional but the call to the attendance line is essential.

If you know ahead of time your child will be missing there is also a pre-arranged absence form to complete (request from the front office). It is required to be turned in at least 2 days before the requested absence and applies for certain types of absences (family vacation, special religious events, etc.)

Bus Riders: There is NO NEED to call the transportation department to notify them of the absence. The bus driver will stop for 2 minutes at your child's stop and then continue on the route if you are not outside when they arrive. The department doesn't have staffing to field phone calls regarding absences or notify the drivers of the messages. Additionally, they need the phone line open for other purposes.
