Senior Seminar Speaker
Northern Michigan University
by Gabriel Hofmann
On Friday, November 4th we had a speaker from Northern Michigan University. She spoke to us about some of the things the school has to offer but more importantly, she talked to us about college as a whole. I liked her as a speaker because she didn't try to sell us on that one college the entire time. She would tell us important information about post-secondary education and then use Northern as an example. It helped me relate to someone like me who knows they are attending a different school. It helped me grasp the concept of what I need to do better and she even gave us questions to ask colleges so we know what we are getting into.
She also told us details about the area that the school is in. She completely sold me on the area and made me want to live there. She touched on campus life and a little bit on the classes and sports that way we did have an understanding of the school. I think she should touch a little bit more on the classes and degrees that the school offers.
Overall, I think she spoke well and provided us with the necessary information. I like her approach of giving us advice and general information on schooling, not just what works for Northern. I think she should continue to come back and tell kids about this school. It seems like a very cool location and a good option for some students whose degree is taught there.

I can never take my dog to the park because the ducks keep trying to bite him.
I guess that’s what I get for buying a pure bread dog.
