Hello Johnson Families!
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! We are off to a great start! Johnson is a very loving school and we are so glad to have your child or children be a student in our school. We work very hard to ensure your children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for your children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. If you are available to volunteer at Johnson, please let your child's teacher know and we can connect you with our PTO Co-chairs. Also, please make sure you join PTO. The PTO membership dues are $10 per child. The membership dues are used for other special events the PTO has and Staff Appreciation.
We have many wonderful things plan for this school year and look forward to working with you!

Students can go eat breakfast or go wait near their classroom for school to start at 8:30. Please do not drop students off before 8:00. There is no one to watch them. If you are in need of morning care we have MAC that your child can join. Students can be dropped off as early as 6:00 a.m. | PTO Meeting Our JES PTO will have their first meeting of the 2021-2022 school year on Friday, August 27th at 8:00 in room 102. Please join us if you can! You will get a lot of information and find out all the ways you can help support JES! We look forward to seeing everyone on the 27th! |

Tutoring begins in-person on September 13th for 1st-4th grades
Cost is $10 w/ a $30 registration fee
M-Th from 3:30-5;30

Time: Wednesday mornings 7:15-8AM for 3rd graders OR Friday mornings same time with 4th graders

Handbook Thank you to all of you who were able to attend out Parent/Teacher Nights! We know it can be challenging to get everything in those first few weeks of school. If you did miss your student's Parent Night please make sure you reach out to the teacher to get their expectations for the school year. Our Parent Handbook also has a lot of information that will help you throughout the year. The Handbook was sent home in your child's beginning of the year folder with the paperwork we need to start the year. | Remote Learning When a student is quarantined by the health department they will be learning remotely while they are out. Students must complete the assignments from the teacher- packets, google classroom assignments, etc. If they complete the work they get a distant learner quarantine absence- meaning they will be counted as being present in the classroom. If they do not complete their assignments they will receive a medically excused quarantine absent. Students should receive work and assignments from their teacher. | Visitors When visiting JES please be sure to have a current picture ID. You will need to present you ID and sign in when walking through the school. On Tuesday, September 7th we will have our Independence Day. We will encourage students to be independent and begin walking to their classrooms on their own. |
