MMA Montessori Moments
March 23-27 COVID-19 Times
Message from our director, Mr. Mike
What an incredible two weeks. We have deployed a whole new style of instruction to our MMA Community under a state mandate. You as parents and students have been wonderful to work with.
It has been amazing to see our teachers quickly come together and develop online learning and make adaptions for students that may not have the capability to work online by collating packets and having them ready for pick up.
The current mandate for school dismissal or soft school closure was made Friday, March 13 and will be re-evaluated before or by Friday, March 27. We will keep you posted.
In the meantime, the Utah State Board of Education voted to suspend all standardized testing for the school year 2019-2020. They also voted to amend calendar requirements for school days for this year. Spring Break is still scheduled for March 30 – April 3. No contact with the school will be needed for online or packets. Again, we will keep you posted on further developments.
Our best way to contact you is through our one call system. Most of the time, the messages to your phone we send will refer you to your email for a more detailed account of the current standing for school.
We received the following information from a superintendent in Salt Lake. It sounds like fun and we can show some school spirit. Hopefully you can join in.
We have all made it through our first week of school dismissal. It is now time for Utah schools to show our Utah School Spirit. Please join SLCSD schools and MMA in celebrating Utah School Spirit Week.
Post a selfie using #utahschoolspirit and tag your school or district on Twitter/Instagram. We want to hear from students, teachers, parents, administrators, and community members. Have fun!
Monday, March 23 - Crazy Sock Day The crazier the better!
Tuesday, March 24 - What Ya Readin’? Take a picture with the book you are reading.

Thank you for your support.
Message from MMA Office Staff
Kudos to our Montessori families and community. Thank you for taking the time and the effort to come and pick up your child's classroom information and setting up your child at home from the guidance of your lead teacher.
School MATERIAL pick up and drop off hours will be from 9:00-11:00 and 4:00-6:00 until this Friday, March 27. School building will be closed over Spring Break (next week) and we will continue to update you with further notice.
It has been very heartfelt to see families here at school preparing to continue the education of their child.
As we get further notice from the government in regards to the soft closure; we will continue to inform you via one call now, blast email and the school newsletter (MMA Montessori Moments). If you feel like your contact information may be incorrect, please log into your Aspire account to update your information.
Mr. Mike, Ms. Amanda, Ms. Autumn and Ms. Nicoletta
We MISS our STUDENTS
Student Belongings for Possibility of Hard Closure
In the hypothetical situation that there is a hard closure going to happen, we do not know when this will take place. We as a school are trying to be proactive in case this takes place as well as keep our school clean for when we return.
We ask that you please come and pick up your child's personal belongings between the hours of 9:00-11:00 and 4:00-6:00 this week.
Moving forward if we move into a hard closure, until further notice, we do not know as of yet what this will look like in regards to continuing education, at this time we only know that it means there will be ABSOLUTELY NO Access to the building.
