HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 2 Week 8 - 22 June
FROM MARK:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
What a joy to see the One Dominic gang in action this morning! Congratulations and sincere thanks to Tess Jacobs, Teresa Willett and their gang for such a fabulous start to our day. To the drummers led by Brother Stephen, likewise we extend our appreciation for something very special indeed. Thank you all.
Yesterday’s Winter Carnival involving our upper primary students was a great day out. Again, our children gave their best in pretty tough company, and did well. A big shout to Rob and all who supported him in preparing the teams – well done!
Next Friday we celebrate the end of term with Casual Dress (gold coin donation to support Lifelink), and very importantly, a Whole School Mass, in Church at 9.00am. We give thanks for a fantastic term, and we would very much appreciate your attendance to join us in giving thanks.
Have a great weekend

STAFFING UPDATE
I am sad to report the resignation of receptionist, Kerry Capelli. Kerry has been on leave for some time and will not be returning. Kerry worked here for ten years, and many of you will be aware that she has had serious health issues to contend with in the last two years in particular. Her bright and breezy nature was well known! I believe that Kerry is very grateful for the support that she has received from so many in this community. I know we all join in wishing her every good thing, and will be keeping her in our prayers for the future. Michèle Rowland will continue in this role.
ALTAR SERVERS
If any young people are interested in becoming Altar Servers, please contact Fr Chinh on 0411 381 334 or on his email: chinh.dinh@pp.org.au. Fr Chinh will provide the necessary training to ensure the candidates feel confident in carrying out this role.
Holy Roly Stones!!! First performance for the year...
INTERSCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY SQUAD & RUNNING CLUB
Congratulations to all of the students that have gained a position in the Holy Rosary Interschool Cross Country Squad .All squad members can now be viewed on the Year 3- 6 class blogs. The squad will train on the dates below and all squad members are encouraged to attend all sessions.
This year the make up of the squad has changed. In the past we would have 2 competitors in A and B division and take 2 reserves on the day. This year we are going to take 3 competitors for A and B divisions and our reserve will come ready to race, but will stay at school unless needed.
The idea behind this is more students get to race in the actual competition on the day and we felt as an association that this was a better outcome for all.
RUNNING CLUB
We would also like to invite any other students in Year 3 to 6 that might just like to improve their fitness and have a love of running to join us on these dates.

Lost Property
This was put on the table next to the Canteen in a misguided attempt to get items back to their owners. The outcome has actually been an increase in unclaimed property!
Please check out what is here. You may be surprised! At the end of term, unclaimed uniform items will be recycled through the Uniform Shop and the rest farewelled.
HOLY ROSARY COMMUNITY NEWS
PP PLAYGROUND REIMAGINED
In 2016 our parent community created a much-needed additional play area for Pre-Primary. Now, our PP teachers have a fantastic plan to reimagine the lower PP playground space and take it to the next level – creating a place for exploration, imagination and investigation. Our community is supporting this project with funding for materials and parents will provide the hard work! Liesbet Schwertfeger (mum of Henry, Greta and Bridget) will be coordinating the project – thanks Liesbet!!
BAKE SALE – YUM!
Pre-Primary is hosting another Bake Sale this year to raise funds for the ‘PP Playground Reimagined’ project. There will be cakes, slices, savoury items, curds, pasta sauce, jam and many other delicious goodies - what a way to start the school holidays! Let’s support the efforts of all the Kindy and PP families making this happen.
Last day of term

Honestly the best compliment for me is having clients fall asleep on my massage table.
What is your perfect pizza?
Oooooh pineapple, black olives, mushrooms & ham on a thin base
What cheers you up?
The sound of my boys giggling and farting....haha
Who is your hero?
My husband is my number one hero.
If you joined the circus what would you perform?
Trapeze! The closest thing to flying.
What is your favourite movie?
I LOVE MOVIES!!! But my favourite movie at the moment has got to be The Greatest Showman.
