OCPL Weekly Update
February 18, 2015
Outreach & Adult Programming
Thanks so much everyone who sent in egg cartons! We are all set with these now. Thanks for your help.
Game Day this Saturday. 1-5pm at Main.
Leap Day Party- Feb. 29th: Since Leap Day only comes once every four years, we’re going to celebrate. I’ll have trivia sheets and a frog reading suggestion card that will be sent to the branches, so that patrons everywhere can participate. (We’ll draw a winner from the trivia participants for a gift card to BN.) At the Main Library, we’ll have family crafts from 4-6pm. Also at Main will be an interactive choose-your-own-adventure that people can explore on their own time. More details will follow next week.
PODCAST: Is now available on iTunes. Meaning you can subscribe and download to multiple podcast platforms.
Overdrive is still struggling to fix the iOS (Apple) mobile app. They have issued one revised app, but that did not resolve all the problems.
There is a good rundown of the problems patrons might encounter and some instructions on what to do at http://help.overdrive.com/customer/portal/articles/2323563
I am neck-deep in OVGTSL conference planning. Why on earth did I ever agree to do this? Why can’t I get into the OVGTSL Facebook page? Why does a pot of coffee cost $55 at the Galt House? Why does Abbey Road On The River -- the largest Beatles tribute music festival in North America (and reportedly the last one to be held in Louisville) -- have to happen at the same time as OVGTSL, a stone’s throw away on the Waterfront??? These questions and many more will be answered by the end of May. Or not.
Have a great weekend.
Coming up next week:
· Tinker Tuesday at South 4-5 PM. STEM challenges for families. Drop-in!
· Bilingual Story Time at Main on Saturday at 2:30 PM.
· All the usuals: story times, toddler times, baby time, adventure time, maker Monday. Check out the calendar: http://www.oldhampl.org/calendar.html.
I will be out of town from Monday afternoon until at least Friday. If you need help with something in the meantime, just ask Melinda or Susan B and they can help you with anything you need.
