Fall Costume Parade

We are very excited to announce our costume parade will have a new twist. Starting this year, we will be holding our parade in either the town of Luckey or Pemberville. The first one will be held in Pemberville and next year, we will go to Luckey. We have wanted to work on improving our town involvement and this is a win for everyone. We now get to come back into the community and share all of the amazing costumes with everyone. The parade will be held on Thursday, Oct. 31st at 10 or as close to that as possible. With this being the first time we have moved all our students at one time, we are asking for a little flexibility.

This also means that after the students return from the parade, they will have regular lunch and recess and will have a classroom party in the afternoon at 2:30 and only parents that signed up to help with the party should attend. We will not have the students dress back up into their costumes for their parties in the afternoon.

Evacuation to football field

On Friday, September 27th, we had an evacuation to the football field. If there was an issue in our school that required us to evacuate, we would go to the football field, weather permitting. We explained to our students that this is a practice and not real, but your help is needed in explaining to our students that this is a practice and they should not be nervous about coming to school. We will also do a lock-down drill a little later in the year and will continue with our fire and tornado drills as required by the state.

Field Day

Here are some pictures from our field day from different grade levels.

First grade

The first graders LOVED Field Day! There were so many fun events; tug o' war was certainly a favorite! The weather was beautiful, and it was great to be outside with our friends and some family members! Thank you to Mr. Hoffman for all his planning to make this day memorable for us!

First Grade News

First graders are learning how to make tally marks. They are flipping a penny to see how many times they get heads or tails and recording it on their paper with a tally mark.

First graders are learning about short 'o'. They are walking around the room to find pictures that have short 'o' and non-short 'o' words. They are recording short 'o' words on their paper.

Preschool News

"The preschool students enjoyed a week of learning all about farming. They had the opportunity to talk to a farmer, Mr. Eckel; sit on a tractor, and learn about farm animals. In addition, Miss Laurel from the Pemberville Public Library came and read farm themed books. The theme was incorporated into both literacy and math activities. The students even dressed up as little farmers. It truly is a joy to live in farm country."

Thanks so much.

Color Run

The middle school held the first annual color run before the high school football game against Maumee. Many elementary students ran, before the weather decided not to cooperate. Here are a few pictures of some of our students who chose to run in the race.

4th grade family meeting

Here are some pictures from the first 4th Grade Family Meeting of the year. Each month, we focus on one specific trait as a grade level to highlight and discuss. October’s character trait is Kindness and these five students exemplify it tremendously in each of their homeroom classes.

Thank you parents!

We really appreciate you encouraging your children to follow the Eagle Way. This really does help them and everyone in the building when students do their best, treat others the way they would want treated and do what is right.

Together we can create an elite culture!
