60 SECONDS WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT
”Girls on the Run” is an exciting program that three elementary schools in our District have embraced. Chapman, Kinsner, and Muraski are not only helping girls build their endurance through running, but more importantly helping participants build positive character traits through life lessons. Click HERE for an in depth look at this impactful program.
UPCOMING WORKSHOP TO ADDRESS STUDENT ANXIETY

Many families are struggling with a child with anxiety and its impact on family life. Carrie will discuss how we can support our kids at home and how anxiety can affect school. Please RSVP to Teresa Karsnak, our District’s Parent Mentor, by Monday, November 6th at tkarsnak@scsmustangs.org.
MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. ALLISON PAPISH, SHS SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER
Mrs. Allison Papish has worked at Strongsville High School for 10 years. Mrs. Papish is the high school’s Social Studies Department Chairperson and teaches a number of courses, including two Advanced Placement sections (AP U.S. Government and Politics & AP Comparative Government). She is also the faculty advisor for the SHS Mock Trial team.
A resident of Strongsville for 25 years, Mrs. Papish’s three children are all graduates of SHS. She is familiar with many of the families and students who have been and are part of the classes she teaches. “Working with our students is fun and inspiring. They each have unique talents and abilities. I am always amazed to hear of the amazing things they go on to accomplish after graduating from SHS,” she says.
Mrs. Papish adds, “I like working with young people. Most people discount the opinions and ideas of teens. I enjoy the fresh perspective of my students. Their potential to change the world is inspiring. My colleagues at the high school are the best teachers I’ve known. There is a great deal of mutual trust and friendship among our teaching staff that makes coming to work something I look forward to.”
Thanks Mrs. Papish for respecting the ideas of our SHS students and helping them realize their potential, both in and out of the classroom.
