With two months under their belt, it's time to learn more about The NEW Teachers of FPS! There is some interesting stuff here!
Bartley Elementary
Samantha Dillon is teaching 5th Grade at Bartley. Her family lives near Chicago. Congratulations to Samantha--she is getting married next summer!
Colleen Roetemeyer teaches Art at Bartley. Colleen recently graduated from Mizzou. An interesting fact: Colleen was lifted off the ground while sitting in a lawn chair which was tethered to helium balloons! The real live version of "Up"!
Carrie Traetow is in her first year with FPS teaching 5th grade at Bartley.
Bush Elementary
Lacy Waters is teaching 3rd Grade at Bush. It's a family affair--her husband, Ryan Waters, is the Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Fulton High School. They have a daughter, Elizabeth, who is 2 1/2. Lacy has an at home cupcake business called "Cupcakes by Lacy" and she used to be on the Springfield roller derby team. Lacy's name was Raging Waters! How about that for a fun fact?!?
Mary Springer is teaching Transition Kindergarten at Bush. Mary lives in Columbia with her husband and she has two sisters. She just received her masters from Northwest Missouri State University. Mary loves to run. She has completed one 1/2 marathon but would love to do more!
Ashley Nehls is the new PE teacher at Bush. Her husband Brock coaches baseball at WWU. They have a daughter, Kyndal (5) in kindergarten and a son, Hudson (1) at Options Daycare. This is Ashley's 8th Year teaching. She has her masters from Emporia State University and has taught ages K-college in the 8 years of teaching :) WOW!
Kat Thompson, Counselor at Bush is also a Beekeeper. Her family lives throughout the U.S., which is why she and her immediate family love to travel.
McIntire Elementary
Jessica Wright is a Speech and Language Implementer at McIntire Elementary. Jessica has a dachshund named Ralph! She attended Truman State University and worked 4 years as a paraprofessional at McIntire Elementary. Jessica loves to garden, do yoga, and is working on completing her Missouri State Parks Centennial Passport.
Siri Kemp is teaching 4th Grade at McIntire. She is married to Joe and has a stepdaughter, Abby. Siri attended Westminster College. Fun fact: Siri had an Elvis impersonator at her wedding reception.
Jessica Carter is a 3rd year teacher. This is her first year at FPS and she is teaching K-5 Music at McIntire. Jessica is the oldest of 5 children, and is the only one without a twin. She graduated from Central Methodist University in 2014. Jessica also teaches color guard for marching band and winter guard. She loves being outside doing anything, but fishing is her favorite. Jessica has a 6 month old German Shepard/Lab mix named Remi, and they both love going for runs in the morning.
Morgan Gehrke is teaching 4th grade at McIntire. Morgan graduated from William Woods University in May 2016. She has a horse named Cat and travels to eventing competitions with him in the summertime.
Chelsea Peiter is new to the Special Education department at McIntire Elementary. Chelsea attended WWU and was married in April.
Rachel Valentine is teaching 3rd grade at McIntire. She is no stranger to the building. Rachel student taught at McIntire last year.
Fulton Education Center
Helen Knight is an Early Childhood Special Education teacher at Fulton Education Center.
She has two children that go to Fulton Public Schools, and her husband is currently at home finishing up his degree.
FUN FACTS:
Helen and her husband own a Screen Printing company called Time Warp Apparel, her son is a true master at his Mario and Skylander video games, and her daughter is a karate whiz! Her daughter is currently an orange belt with orange hair to match and is training to test for her blue belt in December (she recently competed in a tournament in Kansas City and took home 1st place in forms!). If you can't find Helen at home filling t-shirt orders, you can find her at the Karate dojo, watching her little girl train in a sport she loves.
Fulton Middle School
Elizabeth (Lizzie) Tipton is the new Gifted teacher and is housed at Fulton Middle School. She lives in Columbia with her boyfriend, Trinity, who is a Nuclear Medicine Technician. Elizabeth went to Stephens College for her undergrad and Columbia College for her MAT. Elizabeth taught 5th grade reading for 4 years. She is on a bowling league, and her team is currently tied for 2nd place.
Joan Graham is teaching 7th and 8th grade science at FMS. She spent the last two years teaching in Suzhou China, a town of 10 million people. Joan loves to scuba dive and travel around the world. She has been to 17 countries and 42 states. Joan is looking forward to this summer when she can travel some more. Belize is next on her list!
Morgan Davison teaches 7th grade Science at FMS.
Mollye Doering is the new FMS Science and Math teacher for 6th grade.
Maggie Jackson is teaching 7th grade math at FMS this year. She attended the University of Missouri and studied middle and high school mathematics education. She is married to Kyle and they have a dog, Lando. Maggie enjoys embroidering and spending time on her family farm.
Bethany Beebe is teaching 6th grade math at FMS.
Fulton High School
Jennifer Eldringhoff is teaching in the Special Services department at Fulton High School.
She is married to Jeff Eldringhoff. She has two children, Brendan ( FHS Senior), and Destri (FHS Sophomore) and two step-daughters, Hannah and Aleida Eldringhoff. Jennifer
enjoys traveling and experienced a great mission trip this summer at Re-Member in South Dakota helping the Oglala Lakota Indians!
Oly Reyes is teaching Science, at Fulton High School. Oly has 4 brothers and was born in Mexico!
Joel Henley is the new Study Skills teacher at FHS. He is married to Laura and together they have 4 children: Maddie (freshman), Lexi (7th grade), Lane (2nd grade), Paige (1st grade). Joel coaches Middle School Football, JV Basketball, 9th Grade Baseball, is the Pastor at Heartland Church, and loves spending time with his family.
Kari Newell teaches English I and II at the high school. She has been married for 28 years to her husband, Garry, and they have four grown children - Christopher, Ethan, Ashley, and Amber. Kari taught for 10 years at Climax Springs High School. She was an exchange student in Cali, Colombia, South America the summer between her junior and senior years of high school and would love to host an exchange student.
Liz Schwab is teaching Science at Fulton High School. She has been married to her husband Tyler for 4.5 years. They have 2 girls; Harper is almost 3, and Brooklyn is almost 1 year old. Liz enjoys playing and coaching soccer, tennis, and spending time out doors.
Michael Jaspering teaches American History and American Government at Fulton High School. Michael's mom and dad have been married for 39 years. WOW! Michael likes to run and runs 6 days a week. He has completed two 1/2 marathons!
Cassie Elam is teaching English at FHS. She has three 'precious' younger siblings, two wonderful parents, and a cat! Cassie recently graduated from UMSL. She is an actress for O'Fallon Theater Works - they just finished Noises Off! Cassie is also a self-claimed Harry Potter pro!
Jessica Lewis is one of the new English teachers at FHS. She graduated from Missouri State and is excited to be an aunt in December!
Carson Humphreys is the new Ag Teacher at the Fulton High School. Carson married his high school sweet heart, Katie. Carson and Katie have have 4 boys Curtis, Colin, Keegan, and Crosby. Carson graduated in 2001 from Northwest Missouri State University with a BS in Animal Science.
Kylea Raines teaches Family and Consumer Sciences and Personal Finance at Fulton High School. She is also the sponsor of FCCLA. She attended the University of Central Missouri and graduated in May. Kylea is very happy to be teaching in Fulton!
Tyler Davison is teaching ELA and Math at Fulton High School.
Parler Oles is new to the high school as a math teacher.
