MONTHLY LESSONS
March's lessons will focus on Mindfulness and Career Exploration. Mindfulness is the practice of being present, only focusing on the here and now, as well as being in tune with our feelings and our bodies. Students will also get a chance this month to explore careers that might interest them. Students will learn what careers match their personality type. Research has shown that if your career is consistent with your personality, the more satisfied you will be with your career. Please talk to your child about how you chose your career. What training did you go through? What is the best and worst part of your career?
Februrary's Lesson
Grades 1-5 did a disability awareness lesson in the month of February. Students went to six different stations to try to experience what various disabilities may feel like. Please see below for pictures of Ms. Rembert's fourth grade class at the stations.
RAK Week Fun!
Thank you for all your support during Random Acts of Kindness Week! It is one of our favorite weeks. The students looked great dressed up in their spirit wear and we loved seeing all the kind acts. OPES completed 3,612 random acts of kindness in only one week! Even though Random Acts of Kindness Week is over, please keep practicing kind acts! Check out some pictures from our spirit days!

Self Care Challenge
The week of February 3rd was National School Counselors Week! This is a week when school counselors promote their programs. To celebrate, Ms. Kennedy and Ms. Daniel did a self-care challenge for the staff. Each day the teachers could pick a self-care challenge: wear your favorite color to work, take a bubble bath, visualize yourself achieving a goal, etc. After the staff completed their self care act, they were entered in a drawing. We had prizes donated from Orange Theory, Om Yoga and Juice Bar. It was a great week of taking time out for the people who care so much for others!
Thank you to Orange Theory...
