Now Available: The 2019-2020 CVUSD School Year Calendar

The Board of Education for the Conejo Valley Unified School District approved the 2019-2020 school year calendar at the regularly scheduled Tuesday, January 8, 2019 Board of Education Meeting.

The school year calendar identifies student instructional days, staff development days and holidays throughout the course of each school year. The calendar development process continues to be dynamic and considers the interests and input from various stakeholders.

Nature Abound! Outdoor School 2019 to Be Held at Camp Ramah

We are pleased to announce that Outdoor School 2019 will be held at Camp Ramah in Ojai! This special opportunity for CVUSD 6th grade students will replicate the long-standing experience formerly hosted at Camp Bloomfield, which sadly burned in the recent Woolsey Fire. Acacia Magnet School Hosts Day of Service Activity in Honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

More than ten CVUSD schools were represented and over 50 volunteers came together on Monday, January 21 for a "Day of Service," and giving back in honor of Dr. King. These volunteers made approximately 120 bagged lunches for those in need. Each bagged lunch included a positive message. This philanthropic effort was part of the #HashtagLunchbag movement. Way to go students and community volunteers for taking the time to give back to those in need!

Dinner is served! Child Nutrition provides free meals to CVUSD students

On Wednesday and Thursday nights CVUSD’s Parent Outreach Program provides free tutoring for students in grades K-5. This program provides academic enrichment and support to CVUSD families, and thanks to a new partnership from the District’s Child Nutrition Department it now also includes free dinner for student attendees.

The partnership kicked off this past December and the complimentary meals are comprised of sandwiches, chips, fruit, cookies, and milk.

“We are very proud to have the opportunity to support our students with nutritious meals as they pursue their studies after the traditional school day ends,” said Virginia Beck, CVUSD’s Director of Child Nutrition. Read more

Inspiration is Now Found in the Unlikeliest of Places at Thousand Oaks High...Student Bathrooms

Bathrooms at Thousand Oaks High School received inspirational makeovers thanks to students in the school's Peer Mentors Program, and a generous grant from the Thousand Oaks High School PTSA.

Peer Mentoring strives to make sure every lancer, everyday feels included and empowered.

“We are always trying to improve the campus and make it a more positive place. We wanted to put positive reminders and quotes in a place that is frequently visited by students,” senior peer mentor Maddy Lafayette said.

Neighborhood School Enrollment for New CVUSD Students - Now Available

If you reside within the boundaries of the Conejo Valley Unified School District and your child will be a new CVUSD student beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, you may now enroll at your Neighborhood School.

CVUSD's Special Education Department is Hosting a Parent Information Night on February 6th

CVUSD's Special Education Department is hosting parent information nights. The purpose of the information nights is to describe upcoming transitions for your child, with an IEP, from Pre-school to Elementary, Elementary to Middle School and Middle School to High School. School site staff will be present to answer your questions. We hope you can join us!

Target Audience: Parents/Guardians of children with an IEP who are transitioning into Transitional Kindergarten (TK) or Kindergarten

NEW DATE: Conejo Council PTA's FREE Saving Hearts Cardiac Screening Event

The Conejo Council PTA invites all students and athletes ages 12-24 to participate in a FREE Saving Hearts Cardiac Screening event on Saturday, February 9th from 9am to 3pm in the Westlake High School gymnasium.


Pre-registration is required, and may be completed online at: https://www.savingheartsfoundation.com/REGISTER-FOR-SCREENING/

These screenings consist of a 3 step process:

-Preliminary health history questionnaire

-12-lead EKG

-An echocardiogram if the cardiologists deems it necessary upon reviewing the patient’s health history and EKG

Notice of Public Hearing: Transition to a New System of Electing Governing Board Members

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Governing Board of the Conejo Valley Unified School District as part of the transition to a by-trustee area election system to receive community comments and public testimony concerning proposed trustee voting area plans.
