Student Council Needs Your Help
Our Student Council needs your help to collect items for Hidden Hills, our sister school. Donations start on Monday, November 14th and will be accepted until December 9th. Items can be dropped off at the PPPS office. Below are the items needed. Clothing items may be new or gently used (it's a great way to clean out your closets!)
- earphones - NOT earbuds
- reusable water bottles
- elastic waist band shorts or pants (needed in the nurse's office)
- leggings (needed in the nurse's office)
- snacks
- balls for the playground

We are looking for Guest Speakers for MS
Middle school electives are looking for guest speakers to visit their classes. We know there are parents or community members who work in some of the related fields for our electives and we would love our students to learn about real world opportunities these classes prepare them for.
If you would be interested in coming in to speak about what you do in any of the following fields please email Dr. Freed. You don't need to have a middle schooler to participate in this opportunity.

Middle School Dance - Winter Wonderland
The PVUSD Annual 5K Community Fun Run:
The Annual Fun Run will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 and we’ll be back to In-Person this year at Horizon High School! Registration will be held from Monday, November 7, 2022 through Friday, February 3, 2023. Those who register by January 6, 2023 will receive a t-shirt. We are an "A" Rated School!
The Arizona Education Department has released the 2021-22 A-F School Letter Grades for all public schools statewide. These reports provide information about student achievement, college and career readiness, student growth, and more. Pinnacle Peak continues to be rated as an "A!"
Congratulations to all of our hardworking staff, students, and school community who share in this celebration of student success. We look forward to what more can be accomplished as we continue to focus on student achievement here at PPPS. We will be celebrating this with staff and students in the coming weeks!!
Turkey Lunch is Tuesday, November 22nd.
- Adults: $3.50 cash or check only (payable to PPPS). Includes drink.
- Children: $2.75 cash or check only (payable to PPPS). Includes drink.

Music Concerts
- Band and Chorus: 7:00pm November 15th in the PPPS cafeteria
- Strings: 6:30pm November 16th at Sunrise MS
Gifting Testing Information
The Spring CogAT will only be available for Kinder, 1st, and 4-6th grades, and only for students who have not taken the CogAT within 1 year (not since the Spring test in 2022). The 2nd graders and 3rd graders will both have universal blanket testing this year, and are not eligible to take the CogAT this Spring.The 3rd grade testing dates will be sent out once the district has those finalized.
The Gifted Testing Forms can be found on the gifted website (link below). The permission slip will open up for parents on December 12, 2022, and the due date is January 27, 2023. Our testing dates are February 15 - 24, 2023.
MS Lunch A La Carte Items
Items purchased from the cafeteria will be charged to their lunch account. Items from the student council store can be purchased by using Dojo point, which students earn for positive behavior in class.

Do you need help with the cost of school lunches? The National School Lunch Program provides students who meet certain criteria free or reduced-price meals at their school. For students who qualify, breakfast and lunch are offered at no charge. This program operates in all schools in the district; applications need to be completed ANNUALLY at the start of each school year. The online 2022-2023 Meal Applications can be completed at EZMealApp.com.
The Nutrition & Wellness Department will be charging students based on their free, reduced, or paid meal application status during the 2022-2023 School Year. Therefore, all families are encouraged to complete the new meal application.
Picking your student up early?
If you need to pick up your student early, you must come into the office by 2:30pm to have your student called out of the classroom.
Will your child be absent or late?
If your child is going to be absent or tardy, don't forget to call the Attendance Line at 602-449-6701. You can call ahead for planned absences.
