SPED
For those of you new to Oakwood, Mrs. Smith, LSSP, Mrs. Ellison, Educ Diag, and Mrs. Johnson, ARD Facilitator, have moved and are no longer located in the library. Their new office is in room 313.
These ladies service up to five campuses a day, they will always try to have someone in the office, but if it is an immediate question or you need help please send an email to set up a time to meet.
Daily Point Sheets: Please make sure you are filling out students daily point sheets with fidelity. Also, be aware that parents and administrators have access to view this data so it is imperative that you use discretion when responding to the forms. We need this data to better serve our students but we need to only record behavior that is observable and described in the most unemotional, detached and positive manner possible.
Progress Reports: You should have received a google form for progress reports from case managers on Wednesday the 19th. If you did not receive these forms, please let us know. Please complete these forms with as much data as you can and submit to the case managers by Wednesday, September 26th by 4 p.m. If you need help or have questions please let us know.
Rocco's Corner
There are a few students with 504 / allergy paperwork, for whom accommodations include "no sharing" policy and "class posting of allergen." With help from Ms. Ireland I can share an example of one such poster that addresses the no outside food and specifically nuts. If you need one of these posters for your room, because you have such a student in your class, please ask Ms. Tilton for one in the front office.
These students with these accommodations are more often in the 5th grade. The secondary level classroom practice, prohibiting any food or drink (except water) helps tremendously in this effort to protect students with food allergies.

Please be specific about the items you would like for prizes, including how many pieces of candy and what kind of candy you'd like rather than how many bags. PTO will be asking parents to donate items. Decide which classroom will be used so PTO maps are accurate. Please fill in this document by Friday, September 28th so we can get the items we need donated by parents.

Artrageous Field Trip - 6th Grade
Please don't forget to communicate with families that this will be a sack lunch day for students. Also, please collect $1 from each student. As a reminder, you will need to get with Donna in the cafeteria and let her know how many of your students will need a sack lunch from the cafeteria. They will need to go to the cafeteria to pick them up so they can enter their numbers. Lunches will be eaten in Success Class and teams can use the remaining time for recess.
We are having to share buses with AMCMS and we will begin loading the buses at noon. We are still waiting to hear from transportation if we will have to shuttle. We will call for teams in the following order: Huskies, Panthers, Wolverines.
All students should wear their new school shirts. No cell phones permitted on the trip.
We should be back on campus by 2:30 PM. We will return to our success classes and dismiss at the end of 6th period from success to 7th period.
Some changes have been made to the ICS Document. Please check here to view the updated spreadsheet.
