MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD
Purple Up Day!
This is a day for communities to wear purple to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. Purple symbolizes the combined colors of all branches of the military-Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red, and Navy blue. This day is usually celebrated on April 13th, however, we will celebrate this day on Thursday, 4/11 due to the FunRun on Friday and Spring Break.
Throughout the Nation, communities will take time in April to recognize the contributions of children whose parents serve in the military. Frequent moves, family separations through deployments, and reintegration following deployments can make school, home, and community-life challenging for military children. Yet, even in such circumstances, these students continually demonstrate resilience and courage.
