Last Week of School!
It is hard to believe that we are about to enter the last week of school. It was right about a year ago that I was interviewing for this position, and then coming to the Board meeting to be appointed, and then meeting so many of you at the last ILC meeting of the year. What a wild ride it has been since then!
I'm so grateful to be part of such a hard-working, collaborative team. This team made me feel like a family member right away, and I'm thankful to each of you for that. I hope that wherever you are next week, you are remember the hard work you have done this year. I hope you are reflecting on the successes you have led and supported. I hope you are thinking how much more we know about each other, our colleagues, and our students, through our theme of Know My Story, Know Our Story. If you want a flashback, here is the first Ed Services update I sent this year.
As we prepare to be 2020 Ready! we will continue to update you all, and then staff, families, and our website with current information. The Ed Services department has a list of summer tasks to complete in order to support teaching and learning in August. If you have questions, need a support, or just want to make sure something important is on our list, please reach out!
Wishing you a fun last week of school. Enjoy seeing people in person at a safe distance! Enjoy celebrating a great year of teaching and learning! Enjoy celebrating your 6th graders as they move on to middle school!
CELEBRATIONS & GRATITUDE!
KUDOS
Please join me in thanking the following people.
* Heather - Thank you for an amazing job creating a fun virtual celebration for Film Guild after an amazing year of hard work! Thank you for your passion for film making and your support of our student, staff, and community! Thanks to Glen for being an entertaining co-host for the wonderful event!
* Leslie and Julie S. - Thank you for your incredible leadership with the mentor program this spring. Attending the Mentor Celebration today reaffirmed that incredible value that each mentor brought to our students, staff, and families. Hearing the words of thanks from teachers to mentors, and from mentors to you, was a beautiful experience! Thank you for making this a priority to support our most vulnerable students.
* Kristine, Heather, Andree, Julie, Wes, Carrie, Glen, Lori - Thank you for fielding HUNDREDS of parent emails about our learning models and especially DLI over the last week. THANK YOU to ALL PRINCIPALS for fielding questions from your staff and parents as well! We know how challenging this transition has been and we appreciate your continued commitment to communicating.
