Parent Teacher Communication

On Thursday, March 11th WMS teachers will be reaching out to families to communicate the progress of their student during semester two. Families should have received information on how you want to be contacted by your student's teachers. If you did not receive anything please reach out to the student's homeroom teacher.

Quarter 3 will end Friday, March 12th.

Lunchroom Expectations

Students are doing a great job of following lunchroom expectations of staying seated, putting on their mask immediately after they are done eating, and keeping food on trays.

One expectation that we continue to work on is we do not allow students to purchase food for other students, as parents provide money in their student's account. Some students feel pressured to buy extra items for others when asked or pressured as they do not know how to tell peers no. Please remind and encourage students that it is an expectation that they only buy food for themselves!

Registration for 8th Grade Classes

The counselors will present to 7th grade language arts classes beginning March 16. The counselors will present a lesson on registering for 8th grade classes. Students will receive their course planning books at that time and will receive directions on how to enter their course requests in PowerSchool. We would like to invite parents/guardians to be a part of the process in helping their child choose their classes for 8th grade. The deadline for students to enter their course requests in PowerSchool will be April 9. Counselors will also be meeting individually with their assigned 7th grade students to go over course selections and will start that process the week of April 12.

Current 8th Grade Parents/Guardians

In order to ensure appropriate class size and staffing for the coming year, the deadline for high school elective schedule changes has been adjusted to March 15th. All changes in elective classes need to be submitted to the student's counselor by the deadline in order to be adjusted for the Fall 2021 semester. Please feel free to reach out to your student's counselor with questions or concerns. Here are the counselor assignments:

WMS Track

As we move into our spring athletic season, we look forward to being able to get outside for our track season. Track practice will begin in mid-March. We are not sure of our exact start date yet, kind of waiting to see what mother nature brings our way in the next few weeks. Student-athletes interested in participating in track should listen closely to announcements in SPARK/Homeroom over the next few weeks for information about signing up for track.
