Jackson Country Early College Parent Meeting

There will be an important informational meting on October 22nd for parents of any 9th or 10th grade student interested in learning more about Jackson County Early College. The meeting will be held at 6:30 PM in the CCHS Media Center.

Cash Bash Tickets are on sale now! Call the high school office if you would like to purchase tickets!

The 5th annual Golden Cash Bash will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, from 5 to 10:30 PM at the Gene Davis & Sons Banquet & Convention Center. The cost is $80 per ticket, and each ticket will admit two people. Tickets are available for purchase in all district offices.

Parent Seminar-CHANGE OF DATE-November 5, 6:30-7:30 PM

OK2SAY is a program designed to empower Michigan students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, and law enforcement to share and respond to student safety threats.

Please join us for a special program offered by the Department of Attorney Generals Office and OK2SAY. On November 5th, we will be hosting a community seminar from 6:30-7:30 PM. The program provides information on the following:

  • How to access the Michigan Sex Offender Registry
  • Understanding the impact of digital footprints
  • Realize the risk of sharing photos with local information
  • Identify the possible privacy risks of different apps
  • Recognize the potential legal ramifications of sexting
  • Identify cyberbullying warning signs and develop a plan of action.

Senior Pictures and Quotes

Senior pictures and quotes are due by November 2nd. Please make sure to send your seniors pictures and quotes to Students may also drop their quotes and pictures off in the office. Please make sure that you keep your picture and quote together in an envelope with your name on it.

Congratulations to the Columbia Central Marching Band!

Congratulations to Mr. Akers and the Columbia Central Marching Band! They competed in the Troy Athens Scholastic Marching Invitational on Saturday, September 30 and earned 1st place in Class C for Marching, Music, Auxiliary and Percussion!

They also earned first place at the Alma College Marching Invitational with a score of 77 and awards in Best Marching, Music, and Guard! In addition they earned first place at the Lapeer Invitational.

The band will finish up their marching season with the MSBOA District 8 Marching Band Festival at Northwest High School next Saturday where they will have their final performance of their 2018 Show Light vs. Dark which features the music of Kanye West, Coldplay, Fallout Boy, and Avicii, interwoven with a poem written by Sophomore Drum Major Grace Willoughby. The band performs at 5:15 PM.

Columbia Central Athletics


Football is currently in first place in our LCAA Conference. They have a big game Friday night at Hudson. Please come out to cheer the Golden Eagles to a victory. There will be a Playoff Show gathering for the players and their parents from 6:30-8 PM in the CCHS Cafeteria.

Boys Soccer

The team earned the ISL Conference Title with a win over Lenawee Christian last week! They now begin to district play tonight at Quincy. Good luck Boys Soccer!

Girls Golf-After winning another IGL Conference Title, the Girls Golf team qualified for the MHSAA Girls Golf State Finals in D4!! We are so proud of your accomplishments!

Volleyball-Over the weekend, Volleyball competed and played well at the Western High School Invitational. Our school will host district play this Thursday if the team wins today. Go Eagles!

Cross Country-The Cross Country team continues to improve with several athletes earning their personal record times. This past weekend, they ran in the J. Chris Jensen Memorial Run at Ella Sharp Park. The team will compete in the LCAA Conference race this Saturday at Hidden Lake Gardens! We wish them the best!

Tennis-The Boys Tennis team competed in several matches over the season! The team worked hard this year while continuing give their best!

Tigers Game for Eagle Pride Winners!

Batter up Columbia Central High School! The class that shows the most school spirit will get to go to a free Tigers game during the school day! How can you do this? Students need to show up to announced varsity sporting events, participate in Blue and Gold Fridays and other events throughout the year. If you hear Eagle Pride, it's being counted! See where your class stands on the T.V. monitors, announcements, and on the board in the cafeteria! Good luck!

Junior High NEWS!

Our 8th-grade students will be traveling to the Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center Wednesday, October 17th for the Just Build It! Career Expo. Lunch will be provided.

We are excited to be holding an induction ceremony for NJHS, Wednesday, October 24th at 7:00 pm in the Columbia Performing Arts Center.

Our first dance of the year is Friday, October 26th from 6:30-8:30 PM. More information will be coming home soon!

We are still accepting deposits and paperwork for the Detroit trip. Please see Mrs. Hall or Mr. Riedel with questions.

Ms. Brinkman teaches the 11th and 12th grade Language Arts courses at Columbia Central Jr./Sr. High School. She is loved by her students and staff and has already made such a positive impact! Ms. Brinkman enjoys. horseback riding, painting and playing with her dog, Six. Please join me in welcoming Ms. Brinkman to the Columbia School District family!
