Wonder Lounge Work!
President's Day STEAM and Studies Weekly was a blast in the Wonder Lounge. We made our very own Washington Monuments this week and learned so much about the first president of the United States.
Ponies at work!
Reading time is our favorite time and we are growing SO much in what we know!
Calendar and Math Time
We really enjoy calendar time in Room 2. We go through so many skills in such a short amount of time, and the great thing is that we add new things as we go! At the beginning of the year we work on skills such as counting to 30 and skip counting by 10s. Then as the year goes on, we work on other skills like counting to 100, counting backwards, skip counting by 5s, skip counting by 10s off the decade, and skip counting by 2s. We hit patterns, tally marks, graphing, place value... so much to learn!
I thought I would give you a peek into our daily math calendar routine. We have classroom jobs, including a weather person and a calendar person. The children lead this time of day while I facilitate the time we spend and what we mainly focus on that particular day. We then move on to math centers where one group is facilitated by me, one by a Teaching Assistant, and the other is an independent or volunteer facilitated center. Everyone is engaged and working! :) Have fun looking through our calendar time and math pictures!

Absolutely fantastic - Digitial Learning Day!
We are working on our Mokie Monday digital books for Community Night on March 16th. First, we created book covers on paper and then made them digital by putting them into our Book Creator App on iPads. Then, we started to create the rest of our books directly on the App. We can't wait for you to see our hard work and all we have learned through our Equine Studies unit!
The rest of our Digital Learning Day was a balanced mix of fun outside having a picnic together on a warm winter day and enjoying a musical assembly. We loved learning and spending time together as a class on such a special day!
