Norwood 150 Kicks Off!
MCAS is Done!
Once again I am so impressed with the hard work, effort, and determination our students put in to their MCAS performance! Our grade 8 students had four days of testing and really took their time and put in the effort! We have make-up session next week but as a school - MCAS is OVER!!
Norwood 150 Events
As you may have heard, Norwood has a big birthday this year! CMS is happy to be a part of several celebrations. This Sunday is the Norwood 150 Salute to Norwood Veterans (see the flier below for locations and times). Two of our students, Danielle Frey and Kathryn Spellman will be presenting their winning submissions to our Norwood 150 Veterans contest. Both girls created fantastic projects celebrating the veterans in their families! Danielle took first prize with Kathryn a very close second! Come on down to the Civic Center this Sunday to check out their work!
Orange Leaf Challenge
Don't forget that tonight is the final night for the Orange Leaf Challenge. Maybe Grade 8 can finally get the win!! Stop into Orange Leaf on Vanderbilt Ave and 15% of sales will go to the Coakley PTO.

Absence, Tardy, Dismissal Process
Absence Process
As we head into the winter season, I wanted to clarify how to call your child in for an Absence, tardy, or for dismissal. I will also leave this info at the bottom of all future newsletters for easy referral.
If you need to call your child in absent or tardy, please call the student absent line: 781-762-7880 and press #1. Please state your child's first and last name, the date, and the reason for the absence/tardy (sick, appointment, etc)
If your child needs to be dismissed, have your child bring a note from you to school, come to the main office in the morning and fill out a dismissal slip.
