WRS Contributions Change; Error on January 10 Paycheck
Each year, the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) makes adjustments to the amount deducted from each employee paycheck that is also matched by the District. In 2022, the WRS deduction and District match was 6.5%.
For 2023, the WRS contribution for each employee and matching amount from the District has increased to 6.8%. On the January 10 paycheck, the deduction and match was inadvertently kept at 6.5%. Beginning January 25, employees’ WRS contributions will be 6.8%.
An additional 0.3% will be deducted from all employees’ January 25 paycheck only in order to account for error on January 10. The matching District contributions that were not included from January 10 will also be made to all employees’ WRS accounts on January 25. The District apologizes for this error. Please contact the business or payroll office if you have any questions.

Biometric Screenings Uploaded at the End of the Month
If you completed your biometric screening through the on-site opportunities, Prevea will upload your results to Go365 for you. If you complete your screening in January, it will be uploaded at the end of January, then it can take an additional 10-15 days to see it in your Go365 account. If you complete your screening in February, it will be uploaded after our final February date offering and then will take an additional 10-15 days after that to show up in your Go365 account.
There are still dates to choose from at several locations. Employees should attempt to schedule a date at their home-based building. The designated dates for spouses and retirees are now full, so spouses and retirees can now schedule an appointment for any date/location that is still available on the schedule.

Applying Pharmaceutical Costs to Your Insurance Plan
There have been questions surrounding pharmaceutical costs and how they are applied to employees’ deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums. Pharmaceutical costs are applied to each employee’s deductible and out-of-pocket maximums in the same way as all other medical costs.
For instance, if an employee is on an individual plan with a $2,000 deductible and $3,000 out-of-pocket maximum, the employee will pay all medical and pharmaceutical costs up to $2,000. Once the deductible is reached, the employee will then pay 20% of the medical and pharmaceutical costs until the employee has paid the out-of-pocket maximum of $3,000. All costs after the out-of-pocket maximum is reached are free to the employee. This same process applies for all individual and family insurance plans. Please contact the benefits office if you have additional or more specific questions about your plan.
Please Review Your January 10 Paystub
* Insurance premiums
* HSA deductions
* 403(b) and 457 deductions
* Insurance Buyout (if applicable) - this appears in the "Pays Summary" section of your pay stub.
* The WRS rate is changed to 6.8%
Please be aware that when you are reading your paystub, there is a deductions section, and a benefits section. The deductions section is everything you pay for each payroll. The benefits section is the amount the District is responsible for each payroll and is NOT deducted from your paycheck. Below is an example:
If you elected the WEA 4000/8000 plan, your health deduction will indicate you are enrolled in the “HEALTH BUYD” plan. If you elected the WEA 3000/6000 plan, your health deduction will indicate you are enrolled in the "HEALTH CORE" plan. If you elected the WEA 2000/4000 plan, your health deduction will indicate you are enrolled in the "HEALTH BUYU" plan.
To assist in ensuring the proper deductions are withheld, click here to view the premiums for the health, dental, and vision plans. STD, LTD Buy-Up, and Optional Life premiums are based on your salary; if you enrolled in the benefit, simply verify the deduction is coming out of your check. The amount is accurate and is based on the coverage level you selected, your age, and your rate of pay. If you have questions about those deductions, reach out to Becky Frakes.
Please look over your paycheck carefully and notify Becky Frakes of any discrepancies within 10 business days.
