Transportation Information
Bus Information as of 8/2020
The amount of students that can ride the bus in phase II is limited. So...
- The drivers are determining if they will need 2 loads for their routes. If they will need 2 loads, then they are coming up with a plan to pick up the students as efficiently as possible. They have started calling parents to see who will be riding the bus. If you have not heard from your bus driver please contact the driver or call us at school.
- ALTERNATIVE ROUTE FORMS - We will allow parents to ask for an alternative route at the beginning of the school year, however we are asking parents to choose ONE morning pick up and ONE evening drop off. They will NOT be able to choose multiple pick ups and drop offs being that the drivers have to be very careful of their bus numbers. This will help the drivers stay compliant with Covid-19 mandates.
Car Rider Drop Off & Pick Up as of 8/2020
- Drop Off: Parent will line up as usual along the playground fence. Cars will be guided after all buses. Students will need to enter the gate between the trash dumpsters and the cafeteria and follow under the awning to the rear entrance of the cafeteria. This should give space for proper distancing and students will be able to go right to the hand washing sink, pick up breakfast, and go to class without crossing other students.
- Pick Up: Parents will line up as usual along the fence of the playground and wait for all buses to leave. Cars will be guided along as children are called from their classroom. This may take some time and practice we ask for your patience.
Static Groups
Water
VPSB will provide bottled water for students and students will be allowed to bring water from home. Teachers will send out information about expectations/procedures for each classroom
Lunch
Students will be escorted by classes to the cafeteria to pick up lunch and return to their classroom to eat lunch in the classroom.
