Valentine's Day in Kindergarten
Here is a glimpse of all the fun things we did in Kindergarten on Friday, February 12th, to celebrate Valentine's Day!
Heart Short Vowel Sort
We worked in our groups to sort pictures into the correct pile based upon which short vowel they contained.
Color By Sight Word Gumball Machine
We colored the sight word hearts in the gumball machine according to the key.
Beginning and Ending Sounds
We determined the beginning and ending sounds of various valentine friends.
Valentine's Day Cards
We completed our Valentine's Day cards by gluing on our coffee filter heart and writing "Happy Valentine's Day!"
Tissue Paper Heart Race
We worked with the friends at our table to pass around a tissue paper heart. The goal was to not rip the tissue paper heart, but we were only allowed to use clothes pins, not our fingers.
M & M Sort & Graph
We sorted a pile of Valentine's Day m & ms based upon color. Then, we graphed our findings and ate them!
We each took turns delivering our valentines to our classmates' mailboxes.
Valentine's Day Sensory Activities
We used the valentine sensory bin and created playdoh creations using valentine cookie cutters. We utilized our fine motor skills at these centers.
