WBMS Friday Notes
March 10, 2023
Reflections from Ms. Williams
WBMS Parents and Guardians –
It was another full week! Here are some highlights:
- Our 6th graders enjoyed a field trip to Fernbank to specifically explore the planetarium. I cannot wait for them to study the solar system later this year in science. What a preview they have had!
- Our 8th graders relished a field trip to south Georgia to see some of the landmarks they have read about in Georgia Studies this year.
- We hosted an orientation for our rising 6th grade parents, which was packed! We look forward to working with such an engaged group.
- We celebrated Exceptional Children’s Week and focused on the power in our differences.
- Our band students wowed the judges at their Large Group Performance Evaluation.
- Our community went through an extensive National School of Character “walkthrough”. We are currently a State School of Character, but we will not know if we have earned a National School of Character until the end of May.
- Lastly, our students enjoyed pieing our staff members today since they raised over one thousand dollars for the Walk for Water cause.
Remember students do not report to school next Monday or Tuesday. We look forward to seeing them again next Wednesday. Enjoy the weekend, Jaguars!
In collaboration -
Rebecca Williams
Principal, Webb Bridge Middle School

Way to Go Daniel!
WBMS 7th grader Daniel Eisenstadt was one of the presenters at New Prospect Elementary School's Daffodil Garden Dedication Ceremony. He spoke about his participation in The Daffodil Project, a non-profit whose goal is to plant 1.5 million daffodils worldwide in memory of the 1.5 million children who died in the Holocaust and to bring awareness to those currently suffering human rights crises throughout the world.
Webb Bridge Middle School planted our first daffodil garden 5 years ago. Since then, students and staff have planted over 4,000 daffodil bulbs on our campus in collaboration with The Daffodil Project. For more information about The Daffodil Project please go to www.daffodilproject.net.

8th Grade Parents- Save the Date! Bridging Ceremony
Week of 3-6
This week the students learned how to resolve conflicts.
The students were reminded that conflict resolution is a process for settling disagreements between people. It can be a conflict between a teacher, a friend or even a family member.
There are 4 steps to resolve a conflict:
Step 1: Identify the problem-listen empathetically to what occurred
Step 2: Develop a plan
Step 3: Evaluate the plan
Step 4: Implement the plan
The students went through an example of a good way and a bad way to resolve a conflict.
Can you help your child resolve a conflict by following these 4 steps? Please remind them about these when they get into a disagreement.

Front Office volunteers:
Our school was recently named a 2021-2023 National PTA School of Excellence!
To earn this designation WBMS had to demonstrate families feel welcomed and empowered to support student success, and that our PTA is a key partner for continuous school improvement. Becoming a National PTA School of Excellence began with the joint commitment of PTA and our phenomenal administrative team to work together to welcome all families, communicate effectively, support student success, speak up for every child, share power and collaborate with the community. Congratulations and a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible!
To learn more about this accomplishment or to support our PTA during the Fall Membership Drive, visit wbmspta.org.
