Spooner Elementary Newsletter!
October 2015
SES helps celebrate Homecoming 2015!
Last Friday, Spooner Elementary students walked over to the High School and joined all the students in the district for a big Pepfest. Our students did an admirable job of representing themselves and even beat the Middle School in a friendly cheer competition.

SAVE THE DATE! Parent-Teacher Conferences
Our fall parent-teacher conferences this year will be on Tuesday, October 27th and Thursday, October 29th. They will be from 4PM - 8PM each night. We will be using an online program called ptcfast.com to schedule the conferences. Next week we will send out a link where you will be able to select the time that works best for you to meet with your child's teacher.
RAILS Rallies
On the first Friday of each month we will have a RAILS rally. The RAILS rallies are an opportunity for us to have fun and recognize students for different positive accomplishments. Today, was the elementary's first RAILS rally. We did the "shark attack" energizer (ask your child :) ) and shared the school rules.
One of the things that Spooner Elementary has focused on this year is implementing Responsive Classroom practices that focus on building classroom and school community, being engaged learners, and more. One Responsive Classroom practice that each classroom did was have students work together to come up with classroom rules. As a school, we looked at the classroom rules that students came up with and selected four that were pretty much represented in each room one way or another. So, at our first RAILS rally today, we shared them for the first time.
