Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year!
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to the 2019-2020 school year. We are so excited to welcome the students on Tuesday, September 3. It will be a full day of school. The entry bell will ring at 8:20 am. At that time the staff will greet the students outside and lead them into the building. The lunch period will begin at 11:35 AM with the kindergarten, first grade and second grade students eating first. School lunch will be available. Dismissal will be at 3:38 pm. Students will exit through the doors they entered the building in the morning.
Staff Changes
When we left for the summer in June, we were anticipating very little change to our school staff. Well, this summer we were faced with a larger than normal openings on our staff.
Michele Bachert decided to pursue a professional goal of hers. She left Trombly for Montieth to create their brand new Young 5's classroom. This has been a passion of hers and we are so excited for her. In her place Alison Grojean has been hired. Alison has worked in the Lansing area and Anchor Bay.
Dr Dona Johnson-Beach also has left Trombly to pursue one of her professional goals. She will be moving into the administration world as a principal at a school in Shelby Township. Alisha Salli will be the new school psychologist at Trombly. After spending years living in Colorado, Alisha returns to Michigan with her family.
At the end of last school year, our computer para-professional, Linda Fiscus retired. Replacing her will be a familiar face. Stephanie Neisch, our former library para-professional, will be making the shift to the computer lab. Replacing Stephanie will be Eva Orlowski. Eva will be working in the libraries of Defer and Trombly.
Ms Chantay Johnson, a classroom para-professional, is one semester of student teaching away from realizing her dream of becoming a teacher. To reach that goal she has taken a leave to focus on her student teaching. Replacing Chantay will be Erin Paradise who comes to us with years of experience working with children.
In mid-August Jill Herndon, our office clerk, decided to leave Trombly for other employment. We will miss Miss Jill. We are currently reviewing applications for that role.
We wish those who are not returning to Trombly all the best. We are also excited that we were able to find outstanding individuals to replace those that left.
Student Line-Up
Kindergarten students and Mrs Price’s class will line up outside the Essex Ave doors.
Fifth graders will line up on the playground blacktop by the Essex Ave doors.
Fourth graders will line up outside the main Beaconsfield door.
Third graders will line up outside the Beaconsfield door closer to the Trombly parking lot.
Mr Buckman’s, Ms. O’Meara’s and Mrs Sanger’s classes will line up on the playground blacktop closest to the parking lot.
We will have signs outside during the first week of school to identify the line up spot for each class.
