Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week Ontario
Ontario has designated the week beginning on the third Sunday of November as Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week to help promote safe schools and a positive learning environment.
During Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week – November 20-26, 2022 – Ontario students, school staff and parents are encouraged to learn more about bullying and its effect on student learning and well-being.

Thursday, November 24th is District-Wide Pink Shirt Day!
There are several “pink” shirt days in the calendar year claimed by different groups but this one is focused on bullying prevention and awareness. Obviously, our efforts need to occur on a daily basis, but this week does allow us to focus some additional attention to the issue.
A Number of Myths about Bullying Continue to Circulate, Leading People to Believe it's a Normal Part of Childhood...
The facts tell us this is simply not the case!
How Common Is Bullying?
1) In Canada, at least 1 in 3 adolescent students have reported being bullied. Almost half of Canada parents have reported having a child that is the victim of bullying.
2) Studies have found bullying occurs once every seven minutes on the playground and once every 25 minutes in the classroom.

Let's Identify and Dismantle Harmful Systems and Structures that Reinforce Unhealthy Relationship Dynamics?*
