Balclutha Primary School - T1 Wk 10
Newsletter 8 April 2022
Principal's Report
Kia Ora e te Whānau and welcome to Week 10.
We have only four school days left until a much needed term break.
Term 1 has thrown up a range of curve balls and has looked very different to what we were all expecting. We were unable to have the camps, sports tournaments and assemblies that we would have liked however, we have had a wonderful term of learning and all our classes are just humming.
This term we have started implementing structured literacy across the school and the intensive learning by both staff and students has been impressive. We look forward to seeing where this journey might take us in the future. We are working to organise parent information evenings hopefully next term. Like everything else, this will depend on our COVID status.
Next term we are planning a range of opportunities for our parents to be involved in our learning, including assemblies once a fortnight, parent/ teacher interviews in Week 4, and an Arts presentation in Week 9. These will all, of course, be dependent on our COVID settings at the time.
As next week is a short week, this will be the last newsletter for Term 1. I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank our wonderful parents for their support throughout this mucky term, and wish you all a fantastic Easter and a relaxing and enjoyable term break.
Ngā mihi nui,
Vicki Neave
