-Friday, June 2 we are launching rockets at 1:15 (weather permitting). Parents may come to watch their child launch, but please make sure your child knows if you are coming. That way they can wait to launch their rocket when their parent arrives.

-Our final spelling test over list 4 will be on Tuesday, June 6.

-Wednesday, June 7 we will be going to Elm's Road Park to meet our Dieck Buddies from 12:15-3:15. Students will need a sack lunch on this day.

-Community Picnic is Friday, June 9. Our lunch time is 11:00. 5th graders can do the dunk tank if they choose. They will need to bring a towel and bathing suit. Our class can be in the dunk tank from 1:00-1:45 and 2:30-3:00.

-Tuesday, June 13 from 12:40-3:00 is 5th grade send off. This is lunch and games for 5th graders. Parents are welcome!

-Wednesday, June 14 1/2 day and last day of school

Moby Max

Moby Max is an online Math program that Morrish Elementary uses with our students. Students take a placement test and then lessons are assigned to them based on areas they struggled with on the test. Students know how to get onto Moby Max, and I encourage them to work on this at home a couple times a week. It is a great way for them to strengthen their Math skills and it is completely individualized for them.

Content Areas

Math: We are on chapter 8, which is measurement and geometry. Our test will be Monday, June 5.

Writing: We are working on persuasive essays.

Science: We are learning about gravity.

Social Studies: We are studying the American Revolution.

Multiplication Facts

Please make sure your child is practicing their multiplication facts at home. These need to be memorized! Math will be much easier and quicker for your child if they have their facts memorized! Some ways to practice: flash cards, timed tests, writing out the facts, websites or games. is a great website to practice.

Just a reminder that I give students class time to work on their Math homework, so they may not need to do it at home. If they do not finish it in class, or any other work from the day, it is homework. I would like kids to read daily at home for at least 20 minutes.
