Comm Studies
An introduction
Do I really have to give speeches in here?
Yes. But you will survive, and you will thrive!!!
This course incorporates the skills necessary in speaking, listening, observing, reacting, and thinking while students prepare and deliver formal and informal speeches as well as oral presentations individually and in groups.
Students will learn to evaluate arguments and claims in a text as well as evaluate a speaker's point of view, reasoning, intended audience and evidence.
They will also build academic vocabulary, participate effectively in collaborative discussions, use diverse media sources effectively, and clearly present information and evidence appropriate to purpose and audience.
