Weeks of Nov. 18th and 25th
Reading
Our vocabulary words for these two weeks were: utensils, expect, remained, equipment and uniform. Tracked words with finger as we read, Phoneme Blending e.g: /ch/ /o/p, Introduced Adjectives- describing words, Broke words into beginning and ending parts e.g: /b/ed. Identified cooking tools. We did some dictation. The student wrote down the letter that stands for the sound. e.g:/o/. They were introduced to the initial sound/o.They also spelled three letter words after hearing the sounds. e.g.: can. They were introduced to what a fable was. The students separated sounds in single syllable words. e.g: truck. We also went through sight words. I introduced the sight word: you.
Math
We worked on Number line (forward and backward), shapes, Ordinal Numbers (1st through 10th), Practiced writing numbers 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. They also counted objects in groups of 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. We made turkeys for Art and we made the A, B pattern using the colors red and orange using the turkeys feathers. They also colored a turkey using the A, B and C pattern.
They built a turkey with pattern blocks and used unifix cubes and pictures to determine which was less or more.
