The CPA Exam
The Uniform CPA exam is a test accountants are required to take to become a liscensed accountant. The test is 14 hours and has four parts: Auditing and Attestation, Business Environment and Concepts, FInancial Accounting and Reporting, and Regulation. THe exam has multiple choice and essay questions, along with simulated situations.
Duties of an Accountant
THe duties of an account vary depending on what type of accountant they are. Some duties include setting up bank accounts, monthly book keeping, payroll administration, managing accounts, preparing taxes, budgeting finances, and analyzing spending.
Do I want be an accountant?
Becoming a CPA has many advantages. There is a large number of available jobs, so becoming a CPA gives you a large chance of employment. CPA's also have decent salaries, ranging between $45,000 and $100,000. There is room for promotion and advancement in many accounting firms. I could see myslef becoming an accountant because I like working with numbers and would like the salary. there is job security being an accountant which I would enjoy.
