Student Spotlight

One of the things we want to start back up is student recognitions as part of house meetings/or the house theme for the month. Originally we discussed tying it to the theme of the month “Live to Give, Attitude of Gratitude” etc…and that is still good, BUT we can recognize also just recognize a student that you would like to give a shout out too for doing something extraordinary…even if it doesn't quite tie in exactly.

We want this to be a time where the admin team can recognize those students making great decisions and are a positive influence on others and on our school. We will have a certificate to award them and a “Caught Being Good” pencil!

Will let you know if we are going to use the old forms in workroom or make something else for submission (Google doc probably) etc….but for now just email us anyone you want us to recognize and for what.

Counselor's Corner

Kindergarten and First grades are coming for Personal Safety and Internet Safety with Mrs. Flynn and Ms. Ford (room #1213) through December 1st. I am so excited that Linda is with me and able to be my second adult in the room for these lessons while she is here. That means that through December, teachers will not need to stay in my room as we have done in the past years. I am trying to work things out so we can continue this for the remainder of the Personal Safety lessons for this school year. I know how busy everyone is and how precious planning time is. Next year we will need to go back to having the teachers stay. Everyone should have sent the letter about these lessons home a few weeks ago when I emailed it out to you. Also, Please be sure to let me know if you have students who are not participating so we together, can be sure they are not present in my room for the lessons.

Safari Leader:

There will not be Safari Leader Meetings this week! Please let you fourth or fifth grade Safari Leaders know.

Holiday House Toy Collection:

Please let me know if you have any questions about the Holiday House toy collection program.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything!

Have a wonderful week,

Onalee and Linda

Chromebooks are available for ALL students to use. They are located on the 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade halls. Calendars to sign up are in Public Folders. If you'd like Emily to come help with a lesson, let her know.

Don't forget to sign up for the Hour of Code. Early sign ups receive fun posters with Sheryl Sandberg and others on them. Each teacher needs to register separately.

This year, since Forsyth County is a district partner we have a special sign up link.

Anybody can host an Hour of Code anytime, but the grassroots campaign goal is for tens of millions of students to try an Hour of Code during December 7-13, 2015, in celebration of Computer Science Education Week.
