RCHS Students & Parents,
Greetings from The Rock!
Virtual Instruction
Although we have been forced into virtual learning and NTI days while our county has seen rising positive COVID cases, our education continues and so does the responsibility of being a high school student. All students are responsible to stay in contact with each of their teachers to keep up with their classes. Nobody denies the difficulties with virtual learning, but classes are continuing at RCHS through Google Classroom and other virtual formats. Even on NTI days, our teachers are available every day from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm to answer inquiries from students.
2nd 9 Weeks
November 9th marked the beginning of our 2nd 9 week and our district is permitting any RCHS student who has been working through My Rock Online to return to In-Person instruction. If this is something you wish to pursue, please call RCHS at 256-4816 to move your child today. In-Person instruction will remain Mon/Wed for students’ last name A-L & Tues/Thurs last name M-Z. All Friday’s are NTI days.
Infinite Campus Parent Portal
I encourage all parents to check your child’s grades on IC Parent Portal regularly. Because we have been unable to physically send home report cards, it is imperative that parents check grades online. You can go the link: https://kyede11.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/rockcastle.jsp and if you have issues logging on, email Ms. Sherri McKinney: sherri.mckinney@rockcastle.kyschools.us or call RCHS for login information.
Organize Your Day
Wake up each morning with a plan! Just because you are home doesn’t mean you should sleep until noon. Get out of bed on onto your Chromebook! Like I mentioned before, all of our teachers are available from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday – Friday to work with students. Give your teacher a call or drop an email if you need help or have any issues. Our counselors are also available for college, career or emotional needs.
Be safe & please contact me at RCHS if I can be of service.
