Principal's Weekly Update
Volume 2 Issue 25: January 31, 2021
Message from Mrs. Aulmer
We would like to say "Thank You" to all of our students and families who participated in our School Choice Week activities last week. We are excited that you have chosen to partner with QCSS in your child's educational experience.
A big shout out to our kindergarten and first grade students! In celebration of Groundhog Day, many of our kindergarten and first grade students came together to sing “Here’s a Little Groundhog”. Whether Spring comes early, or Winter sticks around, these singers will surely turn any frown upside down!
Please enjoy their first virtual performance by clicking below (look closely, there are a few guest appearances as well):

We would also like to do a class shout out to Ms. Tucker's Kindergarten class. They are participating in a Reading Bowl and the students are rocking the bowl with the number of minutes they have been putting in. Keep up the great reading!
Week one they read for 1,957 minutes
Week two they read for 2,056 minutes
We are now accepting applications for K-11th grade for next school year. If you have any family or friends who are interested in attending Queen City STEM School for next year, please ask them to visit our website at queencitystem.org and apply for our lottery. Our lottery will be held on February 15, 2021.
Thank you for your continued partnership with QCSS as we work to make this a successful year for all of our scholars! I hope everyone continues to stay safe and healthy.
Intent to Return Forms
**As of today we still have 83 students that we have not heard from.
**If we don't hear from you then you will not have a "space" reserved for you for next school year.

This week we are highlighting Ms. Bethea (1st grade teacher), Ms. Wilburn (4th grade teacher), Ms. Bagley (guidance counselor).
