Great job this week! We had another very busy week at Cigarroa and I know it was even busier toward the end of the week. I made it a point to make remind parents to come to conferences in the weekly parent letter as well as via the callout system, so I know that all of our teachers experienced a pretty high number of parents. This is great news and from the conversations I had with many of them, I know they have so much appreciation for the work you do with their students each day! I hope everyone has a restful three-day weekend!
Here are a couple of reminders for this week:
For students whose parents did not attend parent conferences, send the student's report cards home and ask for a signature as proof they viewed the report card. Keep a copy of report card with the signature and return it home. If possible, please make every effort to reach out to the parent for an in-person conference. Please let us know how we can support you in any way!
The PTSA's Annual Penny Drive has started! Please encourage your students to bring in loose change to donate to the school's PTSA. All proceeds support PTSA programs that go directly to our school. Our fantastic PTSA moms will collect all funds before school begins.
This is a reminder that if you haven't already done so, please update your bulletin boards with current student work. Student work came down right before winter break because of ACPs, but it's time to hang excellent student products in the halls and in your room. Current themes you can use are winter (for January), Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Don't forget to also post the learning objective!
Our LPAC co-chairs ask that all teachers update their LPAC folders in their students' CUM folders. All information should be updated on the LPAC folder and any stickers that were placed in your box should be adhered to the folder. If you have any questions, please ask Lorena Gonzalez, Esther Cuevas, or Mrs. Johnson.
Christina Golden wants to remind all teachers to bring your laptops for Tuesday's professional development session with Josie Eatman. If you need to reference Josie's PowerPoint presentation from last week's professional development, please click on the button below.
The deadline to submit the DRA/EDL MOY (middle of year) reading levels of students is Tuesday, January 26th. If you need support with this, please ask David Rodriguez as soon as possible!
This is a reminder that after-school tutoring for 3rd-5th graders begins again this Wednesday. Please click on the button below to review the days on which staff tutors have confirmed they are working. For any team members not tutoring, please help dismiss all students in your grade right after school.
Have an wonderful short (4-day) week!
