Specials Schedule
It's time for the Kids Heart Challenge!
During PE in February students will be participating in various jump rope activities, and learning about our hearts and how to keep our bodies strong and healthy. We will also have the opportunity to raise money for the American Heart Association. Information went home this week with all of the details and how you can help and donate.
Here are a few key things about the Kids Heart Challenge:
-All activities will take place during PE
-Sign up online for free and your child will receive a cool wristband.
-All donations must be made online
-Dates to donate and register are January 30 - February 24
-All Thank You gifts from the AHA will be delivered after the event is over.
-In addition to the Thank You gifts from the AHA we have a few extra incentives:
- Donate $150-Pizza with Dr. Yearby
- Donate $200- Attend a Jump Party during the school day
- Top class will receive extra PE time
-Our school goal is to have all students register online and to raise $12,000
-Contact Mr. Moon with any questions.

Digital Learning Day Important Device Request Information
As a reminder, students will NOT report to school on Friday, February 3rd as they will be learning digitally.
If your child needs a device, please make the request here (MES Digital Device Request form for February 3rd).
Requests need to be submitted by Tuesday, January 31st @ 11:15 AM.
Kindergarten, First Grade, or Second Grade students will not bring home a school issued device on Thursday, February 2nd if this request form is not submitted.

Career Day is coming soon!!
On April 19th, Mulberry Elementary School’s Counseling Department will host their annual Career Fair AND Careers on Wheels!!
We are looking for volunteers! This year we will be hosting two programs on April 19th from 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m.!
- Students in Grades K-2, will hear from volunteers with their work vehicles (fire trucks, police cars, tractor trailer trucks, etc.). If you would like to bring your vehicle for our Careers on Wheels program, please complete the attached form: Careers on Wheels Parent Letter
- Students in Grades 3-5, will rotate through stations hosted by volunteers discussing their career. If you would like to host a table to discuss your career (Grades 3-5), please fill out the appropriate form: Career Week Parent Letter

FLL Robotics- Discover Team (K & 1st)
Grades: Kindergarten & First
Meeting Days: Meet Mondays and Wednesday afternoons 3:00-4:00 beginning in late January through the festival date on March 27th. The festival will be on Saturday, March 27th. Location is still being decided.
Description: This playful introductory STEM program ignites their natural curiosity and builds their habits of learning with hands-on activities in the classroom with Lego DUPLO bricks.
- The FLL Discover team with students in Kindergarten and 1st grade will learn about and solve meaningful real-world problems based on the SuperPower Theme. Students will design, build solutions, and collaborate to develop ideas. Students will use the LEGO STEAM Park set and DUPLO Class Pack. Students will build models to showcase their learning at the FLL Festival.

Description: Do you enjoy building, designing and working with a team to create Robots using LEGOs? This Team might be for you!
The FLL Explore Team with students in Grades 2 and 3 will investigate a challenge related to the real-world theme SuperPowered. Students will use SPIKE Essentials or WeDo 2.0 to code the team models to move/be interactive. Students will investigate a real-world problem to share during the Festival.

Planting Pollinators Gardening Club (K-5)
Grades: K-5 (all students)
Meeting Days: Twice a month on Wednesday (7:00 AM- 7:45 AM)

Description: Students will learn about pollinating plants and how they help the environment!

Wittzle Pro (3rd, 4th, 5th)
Witzzle Pro Club is for third, fourth, and fifth grade students who enjoy solving number puzzles. The children will be challenged to use critical thinking skills and computational skills while playing a fast-paced game.
The club will meet in the Ms. Nevius’ classroom each Wednesday morning 7:15 to 7:45 a.m.

Parents will be responsible for transportation. Please drop your child off at the front entrance at the designated time. Unfortunately, supervision is not available for brothers, sisters, and friends who usually arrive together. Other arrangements will have to be made for them to come to school during the regular arrival times: 7:45-8:15 a.m.
Mulberry Advisory Council (K-5)
The Mulberry School Counselors are looking for volunteers to participate in our Advisory Council! Advisory councils, recommended by the American School Counselor Association, help school counseling programs analyze and document the answer to the question, “How are students different because of what school counselors do?” The council will examine services in three key domains of academic, personal/social, and college and career exploration and will review data related to the comprehensive developmental school counseling program at Mulberry Elementary School. The council will meet twice per year. Please reach out to Katie Fields at katie.fields@gcpsk12.org if you’re interested in participating!
