Week of November 13 - 17
November 21 is a Day to RISE at FIHS. RISE stands for Reaching INN with Support and Enrichment. All students in grades 9 - 11 will have opportunities for academic support if needed OR academic enrichment of their choice.
On this day, all 9th grade students will be participating in service projects on campus and in Fountain Inn. Students failing courses will be completing content recovery and remediation.
10th and 11th grade students will have the opportunity to complete content recovery, job shadow off-campus, volunteer with an on or off-campus organization, take the ASVAB test, complete an ACT/SAT Prep course through an outside vendor, or go on an official college visit.

10th and 11th grade students interested in job shadowing on this day should pick up an application from the attendance office. Completed applications with parent/guardian signatures must be turned in to the attendance office by Monday, November 20. Once the application is turned in, students will receive a reflection form to complete and turn in to the attendance office upon their return to school on Monday, November 27. Students who turn in both the application and reflection form will have their absence excused.
College visits are excused absences with an official note from the college/university. Recruitment offices will provide these to families after the campus tour on the day of the visit. Please turn the excused absence note into the attendance office upon return to school on Monday, November 27.
Service hours off campus will require pre-approval from the principal. All 10th and 11th grade students will completed an intention form for the Day to RISE in their advisory period on Monday, November 13.
GCSVP Registration for 24-25 School Year: All Greenville County students have the opportunity to apply for the full-time Virtual Program. The application for the 2024-2025 GCS Virtual Program opens at 8:00 AM on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023, and will continue through 5:00 PM on Friday, December 1st, 2023. To apply, students must be enrolled in Greenville County Schools, and parents must have a BackPack account. View all Registration information in the link below.

The Greenville Swamp Rabbits are hosting their annual STEM Day on November 12 at 3:05 p.m. The team is offering a discounted ticket for $20. After you've filled out this form please bring the following to the school:
1. Receipt of purchase from My School Bucks, passes are $60..
2. Copy of the parking contract with all necessary signatures
3. Your Driver's License (The address on your driver's license must match what we have on file in PowerSchool)
Passes are only available to Juniors. Parking pass sales for underclassmen will open up on August 15th.
Pass sales begin during orientation. After orientation, bring your information to Mrs. Carlson in the front office.
