Ground level ozone causes a variety of effects on human’s health, vegetation and ecosystems and effects climate. Human exposure to ozone is associated with respiratory and cardiovascular problems well as death.
What are the health and environmental issues related to this pollutant?
Millions of Americans live in areas where ozone is exceeded EPA’S health based air quality standards primarily in parts of the northeast.
What causes the pollutant?
Peak ozone usually occurs during hot, dry, and stagnant summer time conditions.
How can this particular pollutant be reduced?
People should not drive vehicles every day. They should not burn so much coal.
How can I protect our air?
I can walk to work some days. I can also ride a bike to school or work.
