Notes from Dr. Irvin
Your WGHS Weekly eNews for January 16
Hello Parents and Guardians,
I do want to share some good news on behalf of our faculty and students. We recently shared that Webster Groves High School was recognized as one of 7 schools in Missouri recognized for increasing access to AP courses and maintaining or improving scores of three or higher on AP exams. We know that engaging in rigorous learning settings is critical for students for post-secondary preparation. In addition to this news, we reduced the number of students that failed courses in the first semester in comparison to last school year. Public schools should reach to challenge students to think deeply about complex issues and topics, and yet find ways to reach all students. While we certainly have not completed our work and still have challenges to confront, we are glad to share the good news from our staff's work with our students.
Best,
Matt Irvin
