Greenhouse Take Down with Lamppost Farm

The day before Easter was truly a busy one here at the property of Common Ground Church Community! It was also a day of joy, old & new friends, family, hard work, mission, laughter, and fellowship. Folks from Lamppost Farm, Common Ground, and Goodness Grows came together to take down the old greenhouses out back, left over from the days when this property was Mellinger's Nursery and Garden Center. Over the years, we have used them for a variety of projects but it was time to give them new life. The Lamppost crew will be putting them to good use on their farm, keeping them here in the community and caring for creation by reusing these materials. It was a win for everyone! We want to thank each and every person who helped with this huge project. It definitely takes a village to complete a job like this.

What will replace the greenhouses? Wait and see!

GG Crew at Work

Our GG crew manages to amaze us time and time again with their work ethic and determination. We are very lucky to work with such a fantastic group of young adults. Everyone who uses this property is blessed by these young people and all that they accomplish! Over the last couple of weeks, Miss Rachel and her fiancé Mike (a stone mason and a talented builder) led Bradly, Brista, Caleb, Dustin, Keegan, Shawn, and Tori in dismantling the greenhouses to make the big Saturday work day go as smoothly as possible. As Mike reported last Wednesday, "Good news. We have the greenhouse stripped down to the framework. All we have to worry about Saturday is taking the framework apart...it probably will take most of the day Saturday to finish. This prep work was only possible because of Rachel and her HARD WORKING TEAM!!" So, once again, we say thanks to this fabulous GG crew and to Rachel and Mike!!!

Coming This Summer!

We are beyond excited to be part of a brand new, super exciting local farm market in Columbiana! From the market's Facebook page, "Harbel's (replica of Harvey S. Firestone's horse barn named after his favorite horse) is home to an impressive display of Firestone memorabilia, as well as a farmer's market from June thru October. Part of Vagabond Village at Firestone Farms." Located at 45443 State Route 14 in Columbiana, OH, the market will feature produce and items from an array of local vendors. It will run 10am-2pm on Saturdays, June 4th through October 29th. We hope to see you there!
