Restorative Justice in School - An Overview - Jennifer Gonzalez
A colleague shared this article on school discipline that really resonated with me this week. You have heard me talk multiple times over the years about discipline through relationships. The idea that when someone makes a mistake, it is more important to make sure that the behavior is corrected and understood then simply punishing them and moving on. The term Restorative Justice has been around for quite a while, and has been thrown around in many environments. This article does a nice job of simplifying this process and makes it specific to a school system. Restorative Justice Overview I strongly believe that relationships must come first and be at the heart of every interaction for corrected behavior; Jennifer Gonzalez agrees.
