In First Grade, we are working really hard on creating a “Hamburger Story!” What this means is that we are creating a paragraph that has a topic sentence, three supporting details/sentences, followed by a conclusion sentence. Mrs. Sovinsky’s students have already come such a far way since the beginning of the school year. Her students have been doing a wonderful job beginning their sentences with an uppercase letter, making finger spaces between each word, as well as remembering to end their thoughts with a punctuation mark (a period, question mark, or an exclamation point). Mrs. Sovinsky’s class is full of wonderful writers who continue to get better the more they practice

We request that parents call the Pardee Absence line at 313-203-1466 before 9:30 am when their child is absent from school. A robocall will not be sent if the parent has notified the office of their child’s absence through the Pardee absence line. Parents are encouraged to leave a message including the name of the student, the person making the call, and the reason for the absence on the absence line. The office will return calls as needed. We hope that this process will support improved communication between the school and the parents/guardians.
