As we enter the 2020-2021 holiday season, I would like to thank each and every member of the EAGLE ACADEMY Charter School community for all the things that you do so freely and with such energy, enthusiasm, and indomitable spirit.
These actions (big or small) make a positive difference in the lives of all of our students and is truly what makes EACS such an incredible place to work and go to school.
To our EACS Families: Thank you for choosing Eagle Academy Charter School. 2020 has thrown us all for a loop and there are not enough words to express how grateful I am for the all support, hard work, and long hours that you have put in over the past eight months home. Each time you sit down with your child to watch instructional videos, practice their phonograms, work on solving Saxon math problems, read a book with your child, make the trek to school to drop off completed assignments or pick up materials packets, you reinforce the importance of school and learning. Everyone has been impacted by the COVID closures in some way, shape, or form. Thank you so much for making your child's education a top priority and for encouraging them to be the best version of themselves. You are amazing!
To the EACS Faculty & Staff: Thank you for all the time and effort you put into making our school so special. Over the past eight months you have had to let go of many instructional practices and adopt/adapt to new practices, all at the drop of a hat. At every turn, you have proven why Eagle Academy is a National Blue Ribbon School of Exemplary High Performance. You continually pour your heart and soul into providing the highest quality instruction and support to our students and their families. I am so very thankful to be surrounded by such a dedicated and hard working team of individuals who have pride in everything they do and who consistently go above and beyond to ensure the success of each of your students and make sure that good things happen at school everyday. Thank you for your steadfast courage, flexibility, and willingness to adjust your sails and to focus first on what is best for our students.
To the Anchorage School District: Thank you for all of you "behind the scenes" support of Eagle Academy. Your embrace of our program bolsters our efforts to promote academic excellence for each and every one of our students.
I am grateful to be a part of such an outstanding community of learners and support personnel. There really is no place that I'd rather be.
In closing, I would like to wish all of you and your families blessed and safe Thanksgiving holiday!
Deanne Carroll - EACS Principal
Greetings Eagle Academy,
ASD Superintendent, Dr.Deena Bishop will be making an announcement soon regarding the District's plan for in-person instruction. At this point, EACS's tentative start date of Nov.30th has been canceled. Based on Dr. Bishop's comments in to news media outlets, it is not likely that students will be back in classrooms until sometime after the new year.
Until then Eagle Academy will continue to provide virtual instruction in the current format.
FREE Flu Vaccine Drive-Up service Wednesday
Nurse Jan will be holding another FREE flu vaccine drive up service Wednesday, Nov 25. This time the Drive-Up clinic will be set up in the parking lot of the Eagle River Presbyterian Church on Eagle River's main street: 12836 Old Glenn Hwy, from 11am-3pm.
This is a free service available to anyone age 6 months and older. A signed consent is needed for each person receiving the shot, you can print it from here or receive it on site.
This is a service provided to our community by your local ASD school nurses and sponsored by Anchorage Public Health Department.
We have had them scheduled and rescheduled several times due to not being in person. Our most recent scheduled picture day is Wednesday, December 9. With the latest postponing of in person school, I'm not sure if that will be likely to happen or not yet. It is still on the books, as of right now, but we'll see what happens.
We had talked of doing a drive by picture day, but with colder temperatures, they won't be able to keep the cameras working if we did it outside, and no one is allowed in the buildings to do it indoors.
I'll keep you updated on the plans, if it looks like we will be back in the building and when we will be able to have them taken.
So sorry for the delay in getting our school pictures taken, but thank you for being understanding.
Thanks, Jennifer Bundy
I am getting the yearbook set up, and wondered if there was anyone that wanted to help work on it this year? Things are kind of up in the air on how it will all work out, but hoping to do some brainstorming with those that might want to participate.
If you are interested or have questions, send me an email or a text. firstname.lastname@example.org or (907) 884-5008.
Thanks, Jennifer Bundy

Family Stories Month rolls around in November just in time for the holidays. When families gather it’s an excellent time to share stories and learn about family history. Throughout the month Family History Month encourages you to record or listen to stories from relatives of all ages.
There are numerous anecdotes of adventure, travel, and romance in our family’s past. Whether we spin a humorous tale or an epic history of a whole branch of the family, record the information in a format that can be shared with future generations.
Enjoy the time with family and making more stories to share during Family Stories Month!
