McKinney-Vento Act Student Questionnaire
The McKinney-Vento Act Student Questionnaire allows NWCS to identify students and help to provide services to those who are experiencing homelessness, which includes those who are: sharing the housing of others due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or a similar reason; staying in motels, trailer parks, or camp grounds due to the lack of an adequate alternative; staying in shelters or transitional housing; or sleeping in cars, parks, abandoned buildings, substandard housing, or similar settings.
If this situation applies to you or your student, please follow the instructions below:
- CLICK HERE to view the NW McKinney-Vento Student Questionnaire.
- The form can be downloaded, filled out electronically, saved and then emailed to sabrena.jenkins@nwschools.org.
- The form can also be printed, manually filled out and returned to the student's building office.
- Or Parents/Guardians can pick up a form and fill it out in any building office.

Please keep your student home and call our NWCS COVID-19 Hotline (517-817-4974) if your student is awaiting COVID-19 test results, tested positive, or has had direct contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case.

This month we should have a good idea of your plans after graduation. COLLEGE, CAREER, MILITARY, TRADE SCHOOL!!!
For those going to college or trade school- you should fill out your FAFSA before the end of the month.
Also for college this is, COLLEGE APPLICATION MONTH-AND MANY SCHOOLS HAVE WAIVED APPLICATION FEES! APPLY BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS.

Complete to Compete will run from September 1, 2020-March 1, 2021.
Awards for each district as well as countywide prizes for students completing their college and/or career planning steps. During one-on-one consultations with their College and Career Advisor, student can enter to win each time they complete one of the steps!
College and Career = Cash and Prizes from the CCAC
Competition prizes aren't only for individual students. They are for schools, too! Winning high schools will receive mini-grants to use toward Decision Day celebrations.

MIDWEST VIRTUAL COLLEGE FAIR-WIN MONEY FOR QUESTIONS!-REGISTER NOW!!!
College Fairs Online is hosting our biggest virtual college yet for the Midwest USA region with around 100 colleges. This is the perfect resource for the virtual learning environment we find ourselves in now. Students can chat with admissions counselors to ask questions about academics, campus life, financial aid, scholarships and more! Register now so you don't miss it! Each student is also entered into a drawing for a $300 scholarship each time they ask a question on a virtual booth.
