Congratulations Mrs Weirick
Congratulations to EHS English teacher Sarah Weirick who was named a Eudora Schools Foundation Fellowship recipient. She plans to use her fellowship this next year researching and designing a program with the intended outcome of training all staff to have a better understanding of student socioeconomic disadvantages and the impact on student achievement.
“I am hoping to explore the achievement gap within our district and learn how to take steps to close this gap,” said Sarah Weirick, EHS English Language Arts Instructor. “I genuinely feel like we have students whose achievement is struggling due to their socioeconomic status. I want all students to be successful…I believe achievement problems go beyond the walls of a school. I want to reach beyond and discover ways in which I can bring community members and parents together to pursue goals.”
“We are so proud of our teachers and in this specific case with Sarah Weirick's Fellowship Proposal,” said Ron Abel, EHS Principal. “Sarah has shown herself to be a very caring instructor dedicated to her students. She is always working to make herself a better educator and to find answers and solutions that benefit every student in her classroom. Sarah will do put great effort into this professional development opportunity, and know she willingly shares with her cohort peers.”

Eudora Times Graduation Celebration
Mrs Johnson - Stop, Breathe, Think
Freshman Orientation and Strive for Success have been selected at Eudora High School to pilot a mindfulness website called Stop, Breathe, Think Classroom. Students check in each day with how they are feeling physically and mentally, and then are given recommendations on mindfulness activities to complete. This opportunity could not come at a better time for students!
Stop, Breathe, Think has allowed me to add any other student at the high school who is interested in trying the program. Students can email jessicajohnson@eudoraschools.org and I will be happy to get them added. All of the information they report is confidential, and students are just asked to provide feedback at the end of the year about what they thought of the program.
Grab-n-Go meal program
We want to make you aware of a change being made to our Grab-n-Go meal program.
Beginning on Monday, April 13, 2020:
- We will only operate two pickup locations.
- The West Carloop at Eudora Elementary
- The Parking Lot at Eudora Middle School
- These pickup locations will utilize a drive-thru format - please stay in your cars.
- Walkers must use the sidewalk and maintain all social distancing practices.
To be clear, this decision does not come as a result of a positive or presumed positive COVID-19 diagnosis. Our staff has gone to great lengths to practice all CDC and health department guidelines.
We recognize this may create a challenge for some families. Please know this was not an easy decision. It was one we needed to make to preserve the health and safety of our families and staff in order to sustain the program for as long as we possibly can.
