Grant Parent Newsletter
June 2021
Thank you!
Thank you parents for sticking with us through this crazy year. As a parent community, you have supported your children in every phase of school we have offered.
You supported them during remote learning from August to November.
Think back to figuring out daily schedules, picking up lunches at Clovis, red and blue folder distribution days. In November, we opened up with half days Monday-Friday and A groups and B groups. Who was in the A group? Who was in the B? How would this work? It did because of your support and the hard work of Grant staff. What was next? In January, we needed to bring back more than just elementary so schedules changed and we shifted to full A days and B days with rotating Fridays. You supported and worked your lives around this new schedule from January to the end of April. At the end of April, we happily welcomed all students back all day, everyday.
While this has challenges, it has worked and we all see the social, emotional and academic benefits this has brought to students. My own children are happier and seem more balanced in this final phase of school. I hope it has brought similar benefit’s to your families. I hope after this reminder of all you have done to make education work for your children, you pat yourselves on the back! You deserve it!
Please know Grant staff have served your children in the best way we can this school year and have appreciated your partnership. Take good care this summer. We are looking forward to a new year and hopefully a return to normal.
Sincerely,
Kirsten Mittelstaedt, Principal; mittelstaedtk@eastmont206.org
